This was pure joy to watch! I’d have loved to see the real thing but this gave me a real feeling of what it would’ve been like. Thank you so much!

I remember travelling on that train on quite a few occasions. My father worked for the railway. As a small boy I used to sit in the cab while the engine shunted, also remember sitting in the guards van heading towards Trawsfynydd.. I also remember the coaches which were a closed berth (no corridors) a heavy leather belt to open and close the windows. If you needed to go to the toilet then you had to get off in a station, always terrified that the train would leave me behind. There used to be a turntable on the way into Blaenau Ffestiniog where we used to play. Brilliant video well done to all.

The long shot of the train crossing Cwm Prysor viaduct brought memories of journeys with my older brother and mother . Crossing it in a snowstorm was almost like you were flying. The kindness of the station staff was shown one bitter winter evening when we were all huddled together in a compartment the door opened and the station master handed my mother an old fashioned stone hot water bottle wrapped in a grey blanket and asked her to give it to the guard when we reached Bala. Little acts of kindness. But I have always remembered with affection the people who ran the line.

Absolutely brilliant!! I have never travelled the line but seen a number of You Tube videos of the line including one using a drone and the attention to detail of the line places and surroundings is so accurate. I know you said it was a train sim but for that level of detail - it was excellent. Thank you for sharing

Well done. It brought a tear to my eyes seeing this. It evoked so many memories of traveling form Ruabon through to Barmouth and to visit relations in Ffestinog. Hanging out of the windows smuts in the eyes and a clout off mam for keep doing it. Thank you for bringing those happy memories back.

Thank you for letting us know. Your hard work is appreciated. We look forward to seeing the Corwen section when you publish it. The pleasure of a day out when you could move about and are not strapped in a car seat are alas something today's children will never know.

I have often wondered how Irish Leader Michael Collins on his release from Frongoch travelled to Holyhead to catch the mailboat back to Dublin. Did he catch a train to Blaenau Ffestiniog from Frongoch and then another train to Llandudno Junction and the to Holyhead in December 1916?
