This is my all time favorite film, the simplicity and beauty. like some kind of realistic melancholy love story. This is what film needs to be.

Hands down one of the best japanese movies i've seen to this day. i come back every few months to rewatch my favourite scenes and listen that guitar melody at the end ahhh.

I love how the movie is slow-paced; it keeps you on your toes. It's as if you'll miss an important detail if you skip just a little bit because of the drawn out pauses. The acting is great and did not need to be overly dramatic. A really touching movie that makes you realize that you will not always have the opportunity to convey what you feel, so say it when you can.

I can't help but cry a gallon after listening to the melody of the guitar. It shakes the forgotten strong emotion, such as yearning and confusion on my part, I have watched this a long time ago and yet it still has that strong impact on me. Truly special for a movie that hides a secret of importance behind those lovely backgrounds.

Its amazing how they were able to show like we are really watching their life. Can you imagine how they created such silence.. While also amplifying little things like footsteps and the background.. Its so good. This is what i love abt slice of lofe genera.

This movie and the guitar tune has always stuck with me - i first heard the guitar melody years ago and time and time again i somehow come back to it - i keep playing it whenever i feel really sad - i just keep playing it in the silent night and look back at my life and reflect upon it - i don't know what it is why it is - but this movie is very special to me - and the first time i watched it without subtitles - just sitting there enjoying the scenery

Few words doled out but there was so much emotion in the whole film. Love love love the actors who played high school students, even their sighs and breathing meant so much than words can say. Its amazing how they can just go on for long periods without breaking out of character 😘

This was a movie in which the silence between the characters- things not said or missed chances or opportunities- became more eloquent than he dialogue itself. Sheer acting became more powerful and mesmerizing than the spoken word. The somber mood of the movie was accentuated by a gray and bare setting during the first 43 mins.of the movie. The isolation and natural background -the unique sound of running water or the crickets, for example, added to the melancholic tone of this movie. Even when the main characters met again they did so in an empty, unfurnished apartment in which a grate deal of the second half of this movie took place ; however, it does have a " happy ending" as opposed to many japanese, korean, european and independent movies.

I dont know about other people but I like the quietness, because I'm quiet like that too. It would be boring to be with me because I can look towards the sky forever and not notice that people have walked by.

In films and in real life, silences are something to want to treasure; want to store away inside of you.Lots of my favourite memories of time spent with the one person I was meant to be with are attached to silence. We used to go to the spare/guest rom and open the window in order for the breeze to cool or heads. To just simply lie there on the bed with her while - well, most of the time there - done so in silence was keeps the pain inside me right now so fresh.

i saw this movie and i almost went crazy because unlike 3 Iron where actions actually happen fast, this was so out of this world and slow that well i thought it was a boring movie..but after i ended it..i was fascinated because the director never fails to make good movies..ever message he wanted to show was through this movie..its very difficult to say I love you...and this movie also showed a lot about life itself..loneliness, boring, financial problems..everything..

this is a beautiful movie. it isn't everyone's cup of tea but it's amazing in its own way. it has a very slice of life feel which shows the real world and real human interaction, full of silence and slight awkwardness. it's definitely a movie i would watch when i feel down or just need a slow-paced and calming movie :-)

for people like me, i like that kind of silence, a simple connection when u don't feel the need to talk much about what u think or want to say in order to connect to other, but somehow it gets there, for me, life is like this, doesn't meant u need to talk much about anything, much more real
