That wasn't supposed to be Cthulhu at the monolith, but Dagon or likewise creature. Still very, very, very nicely made.
@JeremyZahn

Yes its true, I substituted Cthulhu for Dagon. For the purposes of this short I though Cthulhu made for a stronger visual. Considering I was still learning the very basics of video compositing this switch made things easier! Just add Cthulhu, LOL. Now... I slightly regret it. At least I edited out the word Polyphemus-like. ;-) Thanks for the nice comment and encouragement!

@@JeremyZahn, I recognized the ending of "The Shadow over Innsmouth": I shall plan my cousin’s escape from that Canton madhouse, and together we shall go to marvel-shadowed Innsmouth. We shall swim out to that brooding reef in the sea and dive down through black abysses to Cyclopean and many-columned Y’ha-nthlei, and in that lair of the Deep Ones we shall dwell amidst wonder and glory for ever.

Thank you! I appreciate the feedback. I've finally read Pickman's Model (after reading the Dreamlands cycle a few times). I really like Pickman! Although I am still internalizing it. I'll need to read through it a few more times. What struck with me on my first pass was the wonderful descriptions of the decrepit streets and the secret, underground passage ways. There are also a few good paragraphs about the nature and potency of really really good art.

It was the case with R.L. Stine and it is ever more the case with H.P. Lovecraft that the movies and shows do not live up to the books. The best things can't be imagined. The second best things can't be described, then comes what we can fairly explain.

Cthulhu would just see us as a force of nature just like it is. Earth would probably be sacred to the old gods. It would be like one of the few rare planets in the universe where they could have came from. A new home they have interest in. They wouldn’t care about squashing us anymore than they would the birds or the bees.

Music, sound effects and voice audio are mixed with ADOBE AUDITION. Images are processed into layers (foreground/background/other) with PHOTOSHOP. Often these layers are already themselves a video. Each shots is then reassembled and animated in 3D space (think of a box diorama) using SONY VEGAS.
