Scamming and hacking has gotten so bad I don't believe any text, email, phone call or regular mail. A lot of these scammers seem to know just a little bit too much about their victims. Account numbers, names, recent transactions, how much is in the account, etc… Someone who works for her bank must be involved. Scammers won’t waste their time with someone that has $500 in their account. It wouldn’t be too difficult to target her IP address as she has probably emailed her bank before. This guy actually got the women to withdraw the money and deposit it elsewhere. The scammer might have done this to evade an internal safeguard installed by the bank to stop these fraudulent transfers as more and more banks are having to replace the stolen funds.
