I tried to install an internal battery and speakers in my HackRF Porta Pack because the H2 Porta Pack was giving me inadequacy issues.
I happened to have some components lying around from various projects so it's a bit cobbled together. I used a TP4056 battery control board that has a boost converter and USB charger built in. I sent 5V power to the HackRF mainboard thru the backs of PIN-1 (VBAT) and PIN-13 (GND). I also sent 5V to a PAM8403 3W stereo amplifier and to another boost converter that sends 12V to the latching relay that requires 12V (because that's what i had). The Relay interrupts the 5V to the HackRF and the amp. The system picks up a lot of noise from the coils in the converters so im going to try wrapping them in foil tape and see if that helps. When running on USB power there is less interference but the boost converters are always running whenever the battery is plugged in. I will most likely have to replace my fancy momentary power button with a mechanical latching pushbutton that disconnects power at the battery. The power switch needing standby power to work and the 12v relay requiring a second voltage converter is a bit ridiculous but it was fun anyway.
