¡Buen video!. He desmontado no hace mucho dos como esas y no es dificil de reparar si se siguen los pasos marcados en el manual que prooporciona Flygt. Muy buenas estas bombas de Flygt. Las reparas con repuestos originales y te despreocupas por muchos años si sabes hacerlo bien. Gracias por compartir el video. Es de gran ayuda a los que nos dedicamos a reparar bombas de residuales.

Why not start with inspection plug first ? In addition What is the recommended Preventive maintenance interval? Thirdly cavitation should occur around a circumstance what do you mean when you say it appears on both sides of the impeller?

James, great questions / points, thank you. Yes, agreed, starting with inspection plug is correct. We previously performed this during our breakdown, then went through this pump for the purpose if video. Initial PM inspection is recommended within first year of operation. From thereafter PM inspections are recommended every 12,000 hours or three years, whichever comes first. Great point on condition(s) leading to cavitation. The intent regarding this was for noting evidence of cavitation on both impeller vanes. Much Thanks!

Winding resistance variation should be less than 10%. FLS has been upgraded and should be replaced. Continuity should be checked first because an open circuit will show high insulation on the megger test. The green behind the tandem mechanical seal is from the main bearing. All O rings should be replaced on assembly. Another cause of cavitation could be the pump inlet to sump floor being too small.

What should be the resistance between thermal contacts T1 and T2. And if there is no resistance showing what does it mean ???

Simple field test - if you see "0L" on meter between thermal sensor wires (T1 and T2) then thermal sensor in motor is "open" and it is recommended to pull pump for further diagnosis. In terms of actual resistance in moisture relay in control panel if no warning lights are illuminated on relay then should be 1200 ohms resistance. If moisture relay is illuminated then fls moved, indicating water is in the leakage chamber, and there are approximately 300 ohms resistance.

We have cooling water leak from the bottom of the pump. What could be the problem? The pump was removed due to overheating alarm. There was not water left in the jacket. After adding coolant it simply drained from the bottom of the pump.

This is not official diagnosis, but sounds like a seal fail. Can you please send a picture of data plate?

Awesome, thanks for the feedback and glad we can help. You need a BRK (basic repair kit) which includes seal unit, upper and lower bearings and o-rings. Flygt Part no. 657 17 00 for Flygt Pump Model 3153.181

You should consider getting a tear down tank. Makes tear down and quote a lot easier

@@hahnuniversity6881 when I get into work Monday I will snap a pic of the one we use. The tear Dow tank we use is a work bench with grading covering it when you pull your oil plugs it drains all your glycol/oil in a tank
