I was born in the Summer of Love, 1967, and even though I was too young at that time, I managed to catch the tail end of it in the 70's when things were so new and fresh. Now that people have "Seen everything" you can't capture the innocence that once was.

I heard haight died out early 70s (before that) I've also heard concerts in the bay area (ledzeppelin concert 77) guys I worked with said, their were still a lot of freaks at that time. I knew what he was saying, wasn't taken lightly either. I used to work commute San Francisco back 87? I wasn't hippy long long hair kept hidden in my hat 15 year old kids would ask me if I was going to see 'the dead'. Selling Grateful dead shirts everywhere. I had no idea in 1987? Only San Francisco. Fisherman's wharf grateful dead (figures). We were looking for street address driving, I remember my boss slowing down, coming up a park, Watch this, he says, going back in time 60s") Walls graffitied with old bands . People everywhere sitting Indian style, endless. It was beautiful day.

This was an awesome n amazing video of a place I tried to get to several times in my life but missed it by this much!!! Something always went wrong n I never made it there, so thank you for letting me accompany you n Natalie to the incredible Haight Ashbury district!!! It is wonderful how the neighborhood is sooo well kept n all the psychedelic shops n store fronts are a true tribute to our Hippie beginnings, of which I still am, at 65 yrs old!!! Natalie's outfit was awesome, a total blend of 1960's n 1980's styles!!! Golden Gate Park is fabulous n reminds me of Edward Hines Park from my old stomping grounds in the Detroit area of Michigan, where we also had concerts, parties, gatherings, sit ins, be ins n love ins back in the day of which I have superbly fond memories of a time when all different ages n types of people could meet n greet each other n attend all sorts of relevant n historical happenings!!!! The Bison were super cool too!!! Attaboy, Adam the Woo n Natalie too!!! Thanks for resurrecting the memories of a great ride!!! Miss it terribly!!!

Though, I gotta say Adam, a VW Bug and a VW Bus are completely different vehicles. Someday, if you get the chance, maybe you can do a history of the Santa Cruz mountains, Scotts Valley roadside attractions of Santa's Village and The Lost World, plus Circus Trees. I know some of the buildings and decorations from Santa's Village are at Wylder Resort in Hope Valley and some of the Circus Trees are still on Scotts Valley Drive and Gilroy Gardens. @Peter Zimmer Candlestick Park was a total dump, but I kinda' miss it. Coming into town from the airport, it would be the first thing you'd see as you entered SF, and it looked like a giant flying saucer. They would give you little "Croix de Candlestick" pins if you went to night Giants' games, as a reward for suffering through the cold. It was also much better than Levi's Stadium for 49ers games. And the Beatles played their last US concert at Candlestick. The first time I visited San Francisco from Ohio, and I was more excited to see Candlestick Park, the Cow Palace, and Kezar Pavilion, than the Golden Gate Bridge.
