I love to see curly girls not following the cgm, but still showing how to properly take care of my hair and taking off the pressure that comes with stressing out wether the product is ”approved” or not! Also not gatekeeping curly hair as many tips and tricks work for us, on the wavier side as well!

I lived most of my life thinking I had straight but frizzy hair. And someone said "that's not frizz, that's your hair trying to be curly and its not able to" or something like that. So I started to look into it, especially after one day when I air dried my hair and it was super wavy. I never did CGM or DevaCurl because I only just started during the pandemic so there was a lot of resources saying like "no dont do this its not necessarily good for curls". My hair is only about a 2C most days so idk if its curly or wavy but its something!

I was convinced by my hair dresser that I went to for almost a decade that I had straight but unmanageable hair. When I tried to book for a haircut she was unavailable due to personal reasons. Well I went to a whole other salon and the first words out of his mouth were 'do you want to enhance your waves or keep it like this'. I was blown away. And with his help, and after a move several states away, and a new hair stylisty hair isn't as frizzy but it's getting very curly

I didn't realize mine was wavy either. My waves get squished easily and then frizz. My mom had super curly and frizzy hair she hated so I thought maybe I had just the frizz gene. Mel i just want to say that you changed my life. I was 10 years old when i first considered going natural and starting my curly hair journey. I found some you tubers that would just put products on their hair with some smoothing and their hair would be perfect. I would be absolutely FAWNING over it, but their techniques and uneducated advice never worked for me. Around that age is when i also became insecure about everything about myself including my hair, My tan skin, my brows, my nose, and of course my hair that I had no idea to take care of. I found you during quarantine and watched all your videos and learned so much. Now, I am 15, my hair is my best and favorite feature and I am constantly complimented on it thanks to you. Taking care of my hair opened other doors for self care, such as skin, style, a healthy diet and body. I am more confident than ever now, and I feel beautiful and authentic to myself . Thank you mel.

Hey Mell!!! Just a couple tips, but the Aztec clay helps clump up & fix curl patterns. Your curls are already super defined and healthy so you may not need it much or notice much difference. But it really does work wonders when people are starting to go natural and revive curls and waves. You probably wouldn't want to pull your hair apart like that with the clay. It's easier to apply the clay in sections and do bantu knots👌and let it soak into your scalp too.. .then cover w/plastic cap. The Aztec clay is also great for bringing back limp waves and cleansing the scalp and even helps with acne. 💓💓💓

I always just assumed that if you use silicones, you need to make sure your shampoo is removing any build up, or clarify as needed.

knowing that bentonite clay can be used to clarify hair is great news cause i currently don't have a clarifying shampoo and wanna wait until my next pay check before buying the list of needed hair products I've been gathering learning more abt curly/wavy hair care but i do have bentonite clay!

Mel, thank you for being you. Not only are your videos informative and well done, but they bring a smile to my face every time! Your energy feeds me! Thank you! I am a curly girl wanna be, I’ve been straight or slightly wavy my whole life and have always wanted curls. So I went out and got a perm, and now I find myself binge watching your videos. I would love to hear how you would care for fine (but I got a lot of it), permed hair. Everything is either too thick and weighs me down and just isn’t the right balance. Can you help a curly girl wannabe out?

I love this! Normally when I used the Aztec clay I do it while in the shower on soaking wet hair vs. out of the shower which makes the application process easier. On my Mom because her hair is super dense, I add more ACV and make it looser then apply it in the applicator bottle which makes my life easier. Love your videos 🥰💗
