You're hitting all of my favorites lately. Keith Whitley, Hal Ketchum included. Hal passed away from dementia in 2020. He was 67, Man I miss him! He used to do a Sunday morning "concert" on Facebook that I always looked forward to. Again, thanks for the great reactions! You're one of the best reactors on KZitem!

Another great from Hal Ketchum is...Small Town Saturday Night. I don't know of him for anything but country music, but in his younger years, to me, he kinda resembled Billy Bob Thorton.

Sorry I'm late to the party on this one. Hal Ketchum was a masterful singer and an absolute poet of a songwriter. He is one of my top three favorite male artists. I miss him soooo much. Was lucky enough to see him in concert several years ago and meet him afterward. He was amazing. I know others have recommended his Small Town Saturday Night, which put him on the map, so to speak. Stay Forever and I Know Where Love Lives showcase his amazing voice. And for one of those story songs you like so much, check out my favorite of his called I Miss My Mary.

'Can't get the melody out of my head, you see...' Yes, this is one of those songs. Let us not forget or dis-remember that the song was written and first performed by Irish musician and songwriter Mick Hanly of Moving Hearts and many other bands. Check out his albums and hear his other song of similar impact: 'Homeland.'
