A lot of potential in that house. The one thing I might recommend considering is going easy on the white in the kitchen. Most interior designers are starting to move away from it and bringing in more color.
@JonnyBuilds

It won't be monochrome. There will be quite a few wood accents and beams as well as color in the tile backsplash, door pulls, etc.

Congrats on all the new chapters you're writing! The reno series will be really fun to watch. A few years ago we bought what I fondly started referring to as an "adventure house" bc fixer upper seemed underwhelming. Not a month goes by that I don't mumble the previous owners name with a mouthfull of curses as I find a new "what the hell were they thinking??" behind a wall or some sketchy wiring. As we sneak up on finally being done with renovations, it feels really nice to have a home with all of our own personal touches.... Alas, we never even thought of massive ice chests for the soaking tub!!

This is great! Thank you so much for the tour. It brings back so many great memories. A buddy of mine used to own that house and we house sitted for him for many years. It has always been my favorite houses. I am so glad someone like you bought it and is going to give it the love that it deserves. Can’t wait to see it finished! You better post a tour then as well. Congrats!

Congrats on all the changes in your life. As soon as I saw the opening shot I said "that house is in XXXX" then the drone shot confirmed I was right. All the homes in that area have a very distinct style. A lot of them have a hidden room. It was all that 80's oil boom money going wild.

Great news and congratulations. Whow what a load of work ahead, just on the pond, personally I'd get rid off it, move it further away from the house to avoid any risk of humidity creeping into the walls and the pump as you say makes a loud noise which would need replacing at some point anyways. I know nothing about koi carp but whatever the fish, you'll have to feed them and as you are both mucho busy, best to avoid any nasty future situation. Good luck

I personally wouldn't destroy the koi pond you can make so that instead of the water flowing freely extend the rocks and make it cover the rocks so the water is stopped a little more and instead of having it so high up you can make closer to the water which would mean less water everywhere
