I'm not a specialist, but it looks like push-pull, but he keeps his hand down on the second stroke so that it hits the edge of the hi hat, to give it more accentuation

I think this tempo is too fast for the ghost notes; it's too busy. Slow it down like the Purdy shuffle (Home at Last), and the ghost notes groove, but speed it up to this tempo and it grooves better without the ghost notes.

What's the pattern for the lick at 0:44 ?
@mogglie
8 жыл бұрын
+RazzerKirk I thought about the same thing. I think i uses the same pattern as the hands in the halftime shuffle RLR RLR but played over a 32nd note base.. he just speeds it up a level... I have to check it again.
@rjkade
8 жыл бұрын
+Mikael Palm could be it I just wasn't sure because he's stepping the hi-hat. Might just be what you said with hi-hat foots played on the lefts as well.

+RazzerKirk i had a second look.. i think i doeas RRL RRL (not RLR RLR) pattern over a 32nd beat pattern. .... still not 100% sure....
