Coleman Scott was one of the best high school wrestlers to come out of Pennsylvania in the early 2000s. A three-time state champion at Waynesburg Central High School, Scott was also a three-time champion in Fargo, winning a pair of USA Wrestling Junior Freestyle National Titles in 2003 and 2004 to go along with a 16U (then Cadet) title the year prior.
Scott went to Oklahoma State, where he would be a four-time NCAA Division I All-American, finishing eighth as a true freshman in 2005 and fifth in 2006. A move to 133 pounds in 2007 saw him make the NCAA finals, falling to Penn's Matt Valenti. In 2008, he pinned Iowa's Joey Slaton to win the 133-pound national championship.
In 2012, he went through a three-step process to make the U.S. Olympic Team in men's freestyle wrestling at 60kg and finished as a bronze medalist.
Coleman Scott is honored as a Distinguished Member of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame Class of 2024.
