Brown and willing to criticize (not insult, but criticize) every race equally, INCLUDING my own. I trust that I am not biased because I grew up with an unfavorable view towards the white race and I loved hip hop and black culture (really into the 90s thing). I learned to look at truth - or at least what we can discern as truth - directly in the eye, however pleasant or unpleasant it may seem, regardless of where it placed me in the picture.

@surgerryy Thanks for explaining the origin of Afrikaans. I just assumed Afrikaans was what Halle meant because it sounds almost alike as what she said in the video; African language- and there is no such thing. But then I did a research on Wikipedia (like you did!) and found out that the name is Arabic.

I can't because I model. I model designer eye wear and I signed a contract that I wouldn't display my pics while I am under contract. That's why. The world, at least the beauty industry, did judge how well "proportioned" (btw: that's how you spell it) I am that's how I got the contract. And to top it off I had to cut my hair to 1/4" short to show off glasses. Everyone says I look like an "all" white Halle.

People of East Africa are generally black in skin color, but not purely of the race of people that developed over the last 2 ice ages in Africa apart from human groups in other continents. They are slightly mixed compared to South and West Africans. Those other Africans have got some mix too, I imagine it varies place to place. My point was to show that areas where people tend to express look more unique to Africa, women tend to on average less attractive. Look at the avg. person, not models.

When you use the term 'ancient' what era are you referring to? The writing we use when speaking of Africa was obtained post European intervention into Africa. Obtaining slaves in Africa was extensive Roman era> think of the psychology, if one ethnicity repeatedly comes into contact with a group of people dominating them, and claiming to be superior, that interferes with ideas of beauty. Aside from a symmetrical face it has been proven that beauty is subjective, not race related.

You are right on both comments and I apologize. The day I posted that I was reading articles, racist this and racist that, and I took offense to it and that resulted in my non factual, nasty, ignorant response. It was said in anger and defensiveness but I want you to know I do not believe what I said to be true. It was an ugly statement made in anger and I am not that person, I truly believe there is beauty in all races and I do find "all" black women beautiful. Please accept my apology.

Middle age Arab literature during the slave trade "reported Africans to be stupid, dishonest, unclean and stinky, and sometimes call their women ugly". "The black's physical appearance is described as ugly, distorted, or monstrous". These views were prior to the Reniassance and whatever Eurocentric views that may have spread. This is from an Afrocentric book "Black Man's Religion". Same book mentions Arabs would pay a much higher for Cirassian or Georgian women slaves because of their beauty.
@patgilligan1

No, you can't but she does. It gives her an edge because she can call herself the "first" black to win oscar, etc. Her WHITE mother raised her, BLACK father never supported them or was ever even in her life. It's strategic on her part. She's denying the white mother that put a roof over her head, fed her, clothed her, took her to auditions with the little money they had, the BLACK father played no part in Halle's life. But as I said, calling herself black works for her career.

Thank-you for re-informing me of facts I am well aware of. The point I am making, is that just because you judge beauty as being someone as close to typical 'western' white features does NOT mean that that is what is beautiful. You are speaking out of ignorance by saying that 'there isnt a single black female out there who doesnt have white ancesters' because it works the other way and more powerfully = there isnt a single white human that doesnt have black ancestry.

Africa is a large continent, but it is dominated by a cluster of genes (haplogroup L0-L6), in common with "negro" black people. So race exists. Ethiopians and Somalians have these SAME genes too, but they also have other ones that exist in Asia and Europe. You share the same problem of most people that you shun truths that are uncomfortable because you care more about comfort than you do the truth. You can't accept that nature can be (very) cruel - I am willing to accept either hypothesize.
@miaseymour

I really will not attack u because for anyone to write what u have wrote, there has to be some form of fear, and insecurity. Not only that, but you can't expect everyone to not be culturally ignorant. Africa is a continent love, that means there are many other countries within it. If you look 2 pictures of people from Somali or Ethiopia,(look up statistics, studies have shown these countries have the least amount of white dna or mixing) then you will retract from that statement.

Some people may point to this girl or that girl with no light skinned parents or grandparents, but it will be somewhere back in their genealogist, probably too far back to trace. I'm sure my intuitions will prove correct because as you get further from Europe and North African arabs, black people increasingly start showing features such as protruding jaw, wide nose, etc. They look far less like Tyra Banks or other African American models that people would put up as symbols of black beauty.
