It is possible to replace those caps in the RF section without removing the entire assembly. It has been done, but it is extremely difficult. Small tools, lots of hemostats, and tons of patience will get you there. Many decide it's easier to just remove the RF deck. I've got one on the bench right now that I have to recap and I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to pull the deck, try to do it without pulling it, or just leave them alone and recap everything but those. These are great receivers when they are restored and working properly. Realignment is a bear, though, and full of "gotcha's". I've got 3 of them, one restored and 2 that need recapped and repaired. I love doing it, yet dread it at the same time. But, they are worth the effort.

Great job +++ :-) To get some of those caps out you will need a hard hat , a pick , and a canary in a cage :'-D
