Here we have what I consider the first real animatronic I ever owned. It wasn’t the one that first sparked my interest in singing toys or anything- that was Gemmy’s Caddyshack Gopher, which belonged to my grandparents. In fact, my grandparents had been buying singing toys for me to play with for years before the Rockin’ Rabbit came along, but those were kept at their house. I did have a couple animated baby toys at my house, plus plenty of talking toys that didn’t have much movement, but the Rockin’ Rabbit was the first real animatronic singing toy that belonged to me. Of course, I got it for Easter in 2006, and I believe I still own it to this day. The horrible condition one on the right in the last clip might be my original from 2006, but I’m not entirely sure. If I remember correctly, my original broke at some point and my parents got me a replacement the following year. It’s also possible that my grandpa fixed my original and my parents just gave it back to me… nobody really knows lol. Either way, the one I have now has been with me for as long as I can remember, and it is clearly in need of some TLC. I did replace the button a few years back, but I really don’t want to clean it or anything, I’d be washing away my childhood. That’s why I decided to go ahead and get the first rabbit shown in this video, after I found it at an antique store sometime in the summer of 2020 for $4. I’m very glad to have found one in perfect shape again, but that wasn’t my first encounter with a Rockin’ Rabbit that wasn’t my own. I found one at a yard sale years ago that I left behind, I saw one in a hair salon once, and just a couple years back I found one at a restaurant inside a water park lol. This has to be one of the most common Easter singing toys ever made, and it’s also one of the best. Even if I ignored the sentimental value this has to me, it’s still a really great item, and very unique for its time. The design is great, the song is great, and the movement is great too. We’re coming in at around 2000 characters now, so I think it’s about time I wrap up. If you read this far, I sincerely appreciate it, thank you so much. And as always, thanks for checking out the video! Hope you enjoyed! Let me know what you think in the comments, and I’ll cya tomorrow!
Please note I do not own the rights to any songs, characters, etc shown in the video. All rights go to their respective owners.
