MADE FOR EACH OTHER is (probably) Hallmark Channel’s first non-Christmas movie with actual magic. Normal human woman, Rachel, uses a magical amulet to turn her perfect man sculpture into a living golem.
Am I going to make fun of this movie? Yes.
Do I kind of love this movie? Also yes.
I thought about cutting the thirty seconds where I complain about The Good Witch, but I cut my Good Witch rant from the last video - when I shouldn’t have because it’s relevant. If I ever had time, I’d love to rewatch all the movies (so many Good Witch movies) and finish watching the TV and make a Good Witch video. Cassie is the Ultimate Mary Sue. I will die on this hill.
Also, “Monster Love/Romance” is a real book genre trend. And I, for one, would love to see Hallmark make this their new thing. Like, ten years from now, we’re all reminiscing, “Hey, remember when Hallmark used to make movies about humans falling in love with other humans?” But Hallmark just announced that their new Cool CEO is leaving at the end of this year. At the time I’m typing this, they haven’t announced a replacement. So either the next CEO will be a return to “conservative values” or they’ll be like “hell yeah, bring on the sexy monsters.”
P.S. One of those book covers I show you - the daddy dom gargoyle one - seems to be an erotic novel heavily inspired by the 90s Gargoyles cartoon.
Upcoming Videos:
-A cult classic TV show from a writer known as George Martin. (If you know me by now, you know what it’s NOT.)
-We can scrap an upcoming live-action Disney reboot, because the perfect movie already exists.
(There's a third video that I want to get done that will hopefully bump back the Disney reboot one.)
