Hi,good interesting video, is it possibly a bit over the top, considering the narrow bandwidth we are working with, I have the Heil pr40 microphone plugged straight into my Icom ic-7300, but very nice radio room, 73 from Rotterdam.

Hi Mate I have a 5 band EQ and compressor made by UR6QW. Whats the best way of knowing what knob to turn to what point? Do I just transmit into a dummy load to hear my voice then tune the EQ to get my voice sounding how I like it? All new to me and I have no clue. I want a classic BBC sounding voice LOL. Same Mic as you, going into the 5 Band EQ via the phantom power supply, then into a Yeasu FT-857D.

This is some nice stuff here! I am looking at a 502 or 802 model (w/o the USB), to connect PC's sound card (to 2-track cinch sockets?), FT-891 from it's headphones socket in front panel (I guess to channel 2/3), external PC speakers (MAIN OUT?), headphones (to headphones socket) and mic (mic line in), but I am not sure if I would be able to direct he sound from FT-891 via mixer to dedicated speaker for FT-891. I am not sure if all that will work fine. Thnx.

Hello George, May I get some support from you regarding Essb? I am not a ham, however I have some of the rack gear. I am currently using a President Lincoln + 2 as my main radio. I am not sure if this radio is broad branded enough to get the sound I am looking for. Please feel free to provide me with some advise. Thank you

I tried with a behringer xenyx 802 and a dynamic microphone ZDM1, and when going on the air, it jams the radio frequency and makes a huge noise. I was not able to use the system with an icom 7300.

@@GeorgeEI7KO I connected pins 1 and 7 to the input from the behringer to the microphone jack from the icom 7300. But I noticed that I have a voltage of 8V on the two. Could that voltage introduce that loud noise? THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
@GeorgeEI7KO
Жыл бұрын
@@maxxgabi yeah you need to go in thru the ACC port on the back of the radio. The 8v is on the mic socket for the condenser mic that comes with the radio. If you go in the front, you'll need a capacitor to block the DC.

@@GeorgeEI7KO Thanks for the help, I will try with a 1 microfarad electrolytic capacitor and a 600x600 ohm isolation transformer. I cannot receive the signal from the back of the transceiver because the dxp microham interface for FT8 is connected to that socket. Congratulations for the work done!

My million dollar question is: how do you keep the phantom power from your 7300? Also, how did you go from balanced to unbalanced to the 7300? Love the set up, on my way to doing a few things once I get the power issues figured out so I don't fry anything. With no elmers here, I have to figure it out on my own.
@GeorgeEI7KO

If you are using a mixer, the phantom from the mixer only goes to the mic. Phantom power is only on the XLR socket and none of the rest. At that time I had just the mic and mixer in play. Between the mixer and the radio I use a DI box. I have a video on this when I explain how to unbalance it going to the radio.

One question. Its ok to connect the main output exit from the mixer directly to the 8 pin front conector to a Yaesu DX 1200? Im using this configuration and works.. but i dont know if this configuration its ok.. or i need diyx box in the middle.. 73s

very surprised the radio can handle the audio level. you must have the gain turned right down on the mixer???
@gameruy21

@@GeorgeEI7KO Thank you for your answer. It works.. i can use the monitor from the transceiver and listen myself. The mic gain from the mixer its almost a max level. I will go for a DI box, i think will be a better option.

nice set up EXCEPT your icom is only pushing 2900 and you can never change that, any tones over 2900 are just shorted to ground, unless you install a asymod or other board inside the icom and do lots of internal work

I do realise that. Any idiot can have nice autio at 5 or 6k. I set myself the challenge of doing it at 3k. And by the reports I get, I did the job pretty well.
