I found your videos and passed the Technician, General and the Amateur Extra tests in the last month (the AE a few hours ago). Thank you and the North Richland Hills Amateur Radio Club for making it ridiculously easy and also giving the majority of the questions some context. Yes, the videos can be listened to at 2x speed, but some of the instructions made the concepts and answers stick in my mind. Thank you! Currently KK7HOL.

I'm a General but I've never attended a course. Since the Extra is quite a bit more technical than the other two, I thought a course might be the better route... but are they all just folks reading the questions and answers rather than actual teaching?

Around @1:15:30 the presenter is talking about the electric vs magnetic emissions from the dipole and he talks about the "red line" representing the magnetic field. The line is actually green... probably red-green color blindness like many males. Just wanted to point out the mistake so people aren't confused.

Hey there Jason, once again I'm late to the dance. I just came across this on August 9 2021 LOL. I passed my Extra yesterday August 8 2021. I tried to watch this a few times but it was just too slow and I was like, why am I learning about slow scan TV? However, I was sick in bed on Sunday, watched a bunch of these videos (at 1.5-2x) and actually got to really like these guys. Anyway, started them on Sunday and then passed the extra exam today (Friday). Thanks for this!

This was a great video as the extra (no pun) explanations really lock in the knowledge as there is so much to learn with this license and the hobby for that matter. It is also a great additional learning source as I suspect the other four videos that I will be watching in this series will help me to level up with my knowledge. I used these same types of videos for both my Technician and General exams as they seriously supported what I was learning and provided knowledge from another angle. Thank

I passed my Technician 35/35 on 5/11 and my General on 6/9 34/35. I feel that Extra at this point would do nothing for me but benefit me. Why not go the extra mile? (Pun may or may not be intended). I'll be studying as closely as I can over the next few months (gonna take my time, there's no rush.) I'm glad I found your channel, found my way here from Notarubicon and HRCC.

Can a person just test for extra, or do you have to start out at the bottom and work your way up? My Technician license expired about 10 years ago and I'd rather skip the technician and general levels altogether. Or will I need to take all three tests at the same time to do it on one test session?
@HamRadio2

You have to start again, I believe. I think there is a 2-year grace period, but you are over that. It is possible that you will just test for the Tech, and they will restore your Extra - I can't recall the details of that part.
