Well I "heard" back in the 70's you could talk all over the world on CB with a Pace Sidetalk 1000b CB base radio on LSB with extra channel crytals installed below 27Mhz with a Palomar tube type and D104 and 5/8 ground plane up 60ft. Thats what I "heard". 🤔

The frequency counter above CB set is showing 26.6377MHz, Band C, CH11 and +2KHz off-frequency. However the rig is showing Band B, CH 10 although the course tuning is not visible on the left/centre which indicates it could be an unknown +KHz offset. I wish these film makers would go easier on us pedants and get their minor details right :)

Info from IMDb. Release date Sept 9. Plot...During the 1980s the US is hit by a wave of nuclear attacks, and after the fallout those who remain pretend like everything is normal even though they are all experiencing radiation poisoning. A young girl named Mayday tries to make contact on a series of ham radios with her father who is in space on a shuttle mission. Instead of making contact she receives a intergalactic distress call from space that leads her on a journey to Spacerock, the land where Area 51 once was.

Hi Jason, It’s kind of interesting to hear that you had the upper and lower channels in your cb, my friends and I had the same channels but after a while we decided to explore further so we bought VFO’s and hooked them up to our cb’s and then of course we bought amps as well. That was was more than forty years ago and we all know better than to try that again 😊

Channel 35USB has had amazingly bizarre. I heard things simlar to 'The visitation to Earth has gone wrong. The visitors have decided on a neutronic strike against North America and all other continents. People in Nova Scotia, United States Virgin Islands, Carribian Islands, all costal cities throughout North America, areas along the Saint Lawrence Seaway, areas located around the Great Lakes, are advised to evacuate the minimum of 250 kilometers inland. Those in larger Metropolitan areas are advised to evacuate to far suburban or rural areas. Intelligence operatives have concluded that neutronic strikes will begin the 15 of October. Evacuations should begin at your earliest convenience. Bring only what you can carry in one luggage.... ' It keeps going similar to that do awhile in a repeating synthetic voice, with the characterstic sideband fading in and out, strange robotic tones, and background white noise. This has been happening every weekend right before dusk for about two months. It repeats for about 20 minutes then stops. I live about 40 kilometers North of Uranium City and hear this.

I was more interested in how can i make it go further. no mater how you slice it they are still transmitting on HF. shouldn't they be somewhere on the VHF/UHF bands? if you are between 11&12m and transmitting from outside the ionosphere, how well does the signal get through? anyway, just rambling

Heathkit SB610 Scope Heathkit GR-91 Shortwave Radio Kenwood TS520 Radio Turner 454HC Mic Para Dynamics PDC-256 Freq. Counter President Grant, CB Radio ? Not 100% about that, seems like the model varied, and that Band selector knob is the variable. Archer 21-575 SWR Meter, this was made by Tandy, so probably made all the clone look a likes under a white box program, like the one seen here. Racal Dana 1992 Nanosecond Universal Counter. Looks like that DC PSU has a RadioShack logo on it, but I got nothing. KOSS K6/ALC headphones I can't tell what the other scope is or what is on top of it, nor what is on top of the TS520. That's the gist of what's on her table. Possibly a Heil hand held mic in the wide shot, kinda fits the profile, but the shape is relatively similar across the board, along with the black plastic colour!
