This place is beautiful and that kata was amazing. I loved your version of Hamahiga we just recently started doing Tonfa at my dojo and seeing this is a treat I showed my student they loved this!!

+Ageless Karate Las Vegas - Thank you for your comment, it is much appreciated. We have two Tonfa kata in our system, Hamahiga and Yaraguwa. To accompany the kata we also have ten basic kumite and continuous kumite, plus bunkai (application) to each kata and Enbu (demonstration application) . If you have any questions regarding the Tonfa kata, please feel free to ask and I will do my best to answer. Ashley Jansen www.windsorkarate.org.uk

Nice. If I didn't know better, the way you did Hamahiga no Tonfa, it was in the style of the Gansho (Motokatsu) Inoue line. Thanks for posting.

+Martial Arts with Colman ; Thank you, and you are absolutely correct, I am a member of the Ryukyu Kobujutsu Association GB. I recorded Hamahiga no Tonfa in its basic form for my students to follow, hopefully it helps them to remember the kata and generates interest from others.

Excellent kata, as a practicing martial artist of 46 years in Shotokan and unofficially kobudo for around 30 years that is a very good kata performance, any chance of a slower version to learn off. Oos!

wow just amazing😊 you make it look so easy lol. im working on learning hamahiga tonfa but without anyone in my area who knows the kata your video is extremely helpful in seeing the proper timing and the rhythm of the kata. i have two books with the kata one by Richard Kim and one by Motokatsu Inoue. i really wish i had a good instructional video taking me thru the movements slowly. ill be watching your video many more times to help me with learning the kata. thankyou very much for sharing it.

How can you learn tonfa for 40 years and only come across hamahiga now?
