People are saying lewis is moving under braking, but hat isn't what moving under braking is. Moving under braking is when you switch your line on a corner entry with the intention on blocking your opponent. Lewis doesn't change his line, and his intention is very clearly to just take the corner normally, as if he has priority (which he does)

Jolyon Palmer believes the stewards made the right decision by not penalizing the incident between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton in the final stages of the Hungarian Grand Prix, although the former F1 driver thinks the 39-year-old Briton is not entirely blameless. Palmer understands Verstappen's criticism of how the seven-time world champion defended his position but is also critical of the Red Bull driver. At the start, Verstappen lost the chance to compete for the win, and later in the race, his team failed twice to give the Dutchman an undercut on Hamilton. It was inevitable that the 2021 title rivals would meet again later in the race, as Verstappen was the faster of the two. The reigning world champion closed in on the Briton in the final stages, having first passed Charles Leclerc, but saw his first overtaking attempt fail. His second attempt initially seemed to succeed but ended in tears, especially for the Dutchman. Although opinions on the incident between the two rivals are divided, the stewards ultimately decided to classify the contact as a racing incident, a decision Palmer approves of. "I think this is a racing incident, and I agree with the stewards' judgment," the former driver replied in his analysis for F1TV when asked if Verstappen should have received a time penalty. Hamilton is Not Blameless However, Palmer does think Hamilton could have done more to prevent the contact between the two champions. "I think Hamilton is not entirely blameless. Verstappen comes from a distance, and it might fall into the dive-bomb category, but he has the right to try. Hamilton squeezes Verstappen at the moment he sees him going for it. Verstappen brakes late, but at the moment of contact, Hamilton keeps turning in and actually drives into Verstappen, who probably wouldn't have made the corner," Palmer judged. "It's an ambitious move from Verstappen, but it's possible." "Hamilton had the chance to avoid the contact by not continuing to turn in," Palmer continued, immediately referring to the Austrian Grand Prix, where Verstappen, in a similar dive-bomb by Lando Norris, decided to leave room and let the Briton overshoot. "But Verstappen brakes late and loses control. It wouldn't be a legal move because he comes from too far back and can't stop the car. That's why I think it's ultimately a racing incident," Palmer concluded once more. Moving Under Braking Finally, Palmer wanted to address Verstappen's accusation against Hamilton. The Red Bull driver claimed his British colleague was guilty of moving under braking, which is not allowed. Palmer understands the Dutchman's criticism. "Lewis does indeed close the space. He moves slightly in the braking zone," the analyst acknowledged that there was indeed some movement. However, the former Renault driver also added a point of criticism towards Verstappen. "It's interesting that he was fine with this a few races ago, but suddenly it's not okay when he's on the other side of the spectrum," Palmer pointed to the similar situation between Verstappen and Lando Norris in Austria.

curious to see Lewis onboard if he makes steering input right while seeing Max alongside. Guess it was incident because Lewis could have also easily avoided contact by letting Max make a fool of himself by running deep and then cutting under to retake position

Any view of Lewis forward facing onboard? Trajectory from 0:02 to 0:03 looks like they were going parallel to each other and shouldn't have contact. i'll assume that you're not watching the live race, because the live race provide lot of angle on the collision between max and lewis,, max is still breaking on the turning point, if lewis did not turn his car toward the corners on that turning point he will go wide as well, the problem is max carrying so much speed into the corner, max cannot turn his car toward the corner at that turning point because he still breaking and that put his car in front of lewis car, no wonder the collision is happened because at the time max no longer cant control his car because he still breaking at the time.. for me it was max fault and lewis cant do much more about it because it happened so fast

Hamilton doesn't need to oblige to being pushed off the track on an overtake maneuvre. Max completely overshot the corner, was locking wheels and going straight. Max did this to Hamilton numerous times when Hamilton needed to keep the car in one piece until 2021. Now he's the one who needs to be cautious. And he should've been more cautious.

@@sibiyu67 watched it live but no lewis onboard. or did you manage to find one? Lewis knew exactly when to turn without taking damage himself. There‘d be no point in turning in while Max is alongside after divebombing, as he‘d take damage himself. By turning into his rear tire he can take him out without damaging his own car. Look again. Max locks up his brakes while even with Lewis. Max was making that pass going into the turn too fast. He was going to go straight out of the corner apex.
