I got belt driven exway wave with 105mm cloud wheels and this thing is still reliable and I love riding it. In a year of almost daily drive usage (skipped winter) I snapped 3 belts so I recommend purchasing them beforehand. There is one more issue - I gained a little bit of weight since I ride it almost all the time so you've got to keep that in mind too :)

My concern/question is with the move to LiPo will the charger/ECU/ESC be smart and be able to discharge/charge/balance the battery cells properly to the correct voltages after each use in case you aren't riding for few days/weeks? LiPo batteries are powerful - but their downside is that many do not understand the battery maintenance that comes with LiPos. I've flown RC cars/planes/drones for a long time and I do agree with the power output of LiPos BUT they are not user friendly for the regular eSkate riders that don't understand nor have time to monitor battery maintenance after every ride. And failure to do so will result in puffy LiPo cells which in turn equals a bad about to explode pack - unless Backfire has somehow programmed the ECU to do all that which they have not mentioned...

@BlkRider
Жыл бұрын
That's why BMS exists. There is really not much difference in maintenance between Li-ion and Li-Po batteries. The only difference between RC and e-skates/e-bikes is that in RC you balance your battery with a balance charger while in e-skate/e-bike the BMS balances the battery for you. And it does not matter if you use Li-Po or Li-Ion or LiFePO4 for example (except the voltages are different but correct charger or BMS can handle that).

The remote needs additional tweaks. They should have longer battery indicators ========== Instead of using small bars with vague measurements. The forward/reverse button is still easy to hit if you let go, and it touches your clothes. Fallen a few times because of this. I've had tiny rocks/grit get stuck in there when riding after the rain. It's sad that the USBC still doesn't have a cover.

Spoiler is optional as an add on for some users only. Lipo technologies have evolved over years and become more in demand with modern technologies. Overall, lithium-polymer is slowly replacing lithium-ion in the smartphone industry due to its superior safety, form factor versatility, and weight attributes in high-end and mid-tier devices. If you watched some of the Hammer Sledge videos in details, our remote/esc detects voltage of cell groups on top of overall battery package to make sure cells are in balanced voltage; otherwise will create warning through remote to users. WHOS IDEA WAS IS TO CALL IT HAMMER SLEDGE? I can't stay calm when thinking about how braindead this idea was, sledgehammer would've been the coolest name ever. From a consumer, no one likes this ridiculous naming choice. Please learn from this because the name choice lost you a sale, let me explain. When a board is marketed and sold with ridiculous choices made like this, it sets the bar. You now expect other stupid decisions to be made such as the fingerprint scanner. Yes it seems cool, but in practice it is going to be a pain 99% of the time. If someone is going to steal or use your board, they need the remote anyway, and the fact that it by default locks itself after 5 seconds is ridiculous. I am sounding harsh but it's important to say what I think. Everything about this board seems so amazing until you use it in real world situations and then.. I don't know. It just doesn't quite hit the mark at all? All the features you have picked pale in comparison to other addons people have been screaming for for years. If the board had integrated lights that ran off the battery, if it was sold in either a 2 wheel or 4 wheel drive, if it had the exact same remote without the fingerprint scanner, if it was named Sledgehammer, it would sell like hot cakes. Watching founders who ride eskate and skateboards, who supposedly understand the market make something like this, I don't know. It's like watching blizzard entertainment continually choose the worst option and run with it and then act surprised when people get annoyed that what they want isn't added. To Randy and Jerry (the co founders of Backfire), sorry for being so harsh boys, but holy shit, learn your market. I have only been into Eskate for 2 years but these things seem like no brainers to me. No one is going to want to be swapping those fins all the time. The spoiler looks horrendous and adds nothing to the design or function. If you wanted to make a board look cooler, you failed spectacularly. One last thing, I really hope you didn't choose hammer-sledge for the name just because DKwan suggested sledgehammer and you wanted to have the name but still be able to say you named it. Missed a massive opportunity. If you read this far thank you for your time, I sound like an unreasonable crazy fan boy probably, but I am passionate about where eskate can go and this is not the direction it should be going. Let me know if you agree with anything I said, as I welcome opinions, as this is just mine.

-Blizzard Entertainment "The typical life cycle of a successful game company goes something like this, with a couple of founders working hard with love and passion to make a first-generation game in the garage. The first generation of games was a great success, and the capital invested in one after another. With the office space, the funds, and the full-time time, a second-generation game full of sincerity was made. Then the capital demands to immediately release three generations and four generations to make money! For a variety of reasons (unwilling to shoddy), founders are unable to meet capital requirements. Capital held a general meeting of shareholders, declaring that the original management was incompetent, disobedient, and will be unprofitable. A new management team gradually replaced the founder's management team. The new management team doesn't care about the quality of the game, they just want to launch new projects fast and make money fast! Founders were marginalized, lost control of their companies was powerless against capital, and left the companies they founded in a fit of rage. Then the new management and capital were very happy, using the brand established by the founder to launch a large number of shoddy games to make huge money. The word of mouth is bad and the brand reputation is discredited, but it doesn't matter, After the capital makes enough money, it will take the money and leave to invest in the next game company. The founders who leave can only watch the company they founded go bankrupt, but there is nothing they can do."

15:24 Why not swap the trucks out for better ones? Those Gull Wing Sidewinder II trucks aren't even that popular with longboarders or the Surfskate riders they were designed for, so I do not see why e-boarders would like them either. After looking at the webpage, I can see that the front trucks can easily be replaced with better RKP trucks like Paris V3s or Caliber 3s for even more stability at higher speeds because of the Caliber plug-barrel bushing design and the rear looks like they MIGHT...be able to be swapped, if the drive system is transferable.

🔥 Thanks for the review, Daniel! I submitted it to Backfire Hammer specs page here: esk8db.com/detail/backfire-hammer-sledge-(4-wd)-349

Hey that’s really neat. Is that your website? For the comparison feature, be aware that things like motor power and hill climb specs can be really misleading. For instance, two brands using the same exact 6368 motors, one might say 1500W and the other say 3000W while in reality they’re the same. For motors, I would just post motor size and Kv, and leave out the motor power.

@@DanielKwan Yes, it's my website. Thanks for the feedback! With motors it's hard as manufactures try to amaze you with W number (which is often not exact/accurate as you said) and not very often provide Kv or motor size on the detail page. At the moment, my strategy is to put there all info that is available. Sometimes I try to reach out to manufacturers but it's quite time consuming.
