Nice hammock hang spot. That’s the first time I’ve seen a Kalimba. That’s pretty cool. Fishing and camping that’s the way to have some outdoor fun.

Ey thanks for stopping by. Yessir! It's a bit hard to find hang spots around here so I'll take it. I'm loving the Kalimba so far. It's easy to pick up. I hope your 2024 is full of adventure.

Nice bass! At about 5:00 minutes you showed the trail going straight up the ridge and I said out loud at about the same time you did "That's Henry Coe". Good way to finish off 2023. You mention video games a lot - I just finished making a bartop arcade cabinet with classic games as well as some "newer" PC games. Programmed my own frontend and designed my own cabinet artwork based on a video game I designed some years ago. Good stuff Rod! Keep 'em comin!

Ey thanks! Haha I heard the saying that hikers don't go to Henry Coe to train for the Sierra. They go to the Sierra to train for Henry Coe. Nice! I loved those bartops. I remember one at the local Strawhat where you sit down and face each other playing like Defender or Ms Pacman.

It's great. I sleep better in a hammock than on the ground. It also gives my knees a break since I don't have to crawl into a tent 😄

@@rodoutdoors I never showed it in any of my PCT videos but in Wrightwood I had my family come out and bring my hammock. I used my hammock a lot the rest of the way. It was a nice break from sleeping on the floor and crawling out of tent lol!

@@roamwiththewind That's awesome. Did you have an issues finding places to hang?
@roamwiththewind

@@rodoutdoors Not at all! Since I'm from Los Angeles country I knew there would be lots of hanging options. I was surprised to even find places to hammock camp in the desert section near Agua Dulce. I found out while hiking the PCT last year that there was a women on trail hammock camping the entire trail, and she was writing book with exact locations to hang. For future PCT hammock campers!

The terrain there is awesome looking. You are lucky to have so many epic backpacking locations near you. I like playing video games too, mainly souls games lol

Thanks for watching! That's awesome. I hope it's nice out when you go. I get the huge 3lb bag of Casa Corona from Amazon. I paid around $22 and it lasts more than a year. 😄 I add some McCormick street taco seasoning along with instant brown rice. That and Boulder Salt save me a lot of $ with how many trips I go on.

Thanks for watching! I picked up a bunch at DutchWare. I just added a link in the description. For the actual cord, I had a 50ft roll of Hi-Vis 2.5mm reflective cord. Looks like it's not available at Amazon anymore though.

How are you liking the flex capacitor? Still happy? I'm debating between that and the Granite Gear Blaze 60

It's still working out great. I like the quick access with the huge top opening. The frame is the main feature imo and it handles heavy loads really well. I appreciate that everything is built in and don't have to buy like a separate shoulder pocket. I've come to love the mesh shoulder pockets on my Gossamer Gear Day Pack so I rely on that feature with the Flex Capacitor. I need it more than ever now that I stash the DJI Action 4 w/ mini tripod in there.
