@@shugemery I don't mind sleeping in on the trail. I always say "I am on vacation". I've taken a lot of trips with Dan from backpacking adventures and he was the type who wanted to be on the move at the crack of dawn. Secretly to me i prefer solo trips because I sleep in and march to the beat of my own drum so to speak 😂. I tend to average 20 miles per day on multi day trips during 3 season trips but in the winter 20 miles is about the max for a trip with winter miles being heavier and more demanding. I believe there's something in us wild at heart men. The trail and nature call for us and lure us out even into the dark heart of winter. The powdery white beauty of fresh fallen snow and the complete quiet of a winter forest. Thankfully videos like yours gave me the confidence and knowledge to enjoy

@@shugemery Your -40 (-39 actual?) hang video was the first one I watched. Subscribed and have watched ever since. And...spent a fair amount of money on hammocks and gear 'cause of you. Opened a whole new world of relaxing and sleeping out there, thank you.

You sir are a superstar! Over here in the UK it tickles me to watch your videos. I'm not a pro hanger, I just keep dipping in and out from my tent life but most of what I know about hammocks has come from being entertained by you. Keep doing what you do and being yourself. There's one veteran here that appreciates it. 🤣🤣👍👍🤪🤪

Great points Shug. I loved my hammocks when camping but for long distance hiking I prefer being on the ground in a minimalist tent.

I love putting the hammock puzzle together at camp. Yes I can put up a hammock in about 2 minutes, but it's not optimal for sleeping. I love the tinker time of dialing it in. Like you, I never ask anyone to subscribe to my channel. I just do it for fun and it's the easiest way to share what I do with my family. Thank you for being you Shug!

Shug, I discovered you by chance many years ago when I was researching hiking poles, and came across the video you made about your black diamond poles. I fell in a rabbit hole, watching more and more of your videos. For some reason, I was thoroughly entertained by watching hammock camping videos, which was not an interest of mine. I subscribed to your channel, the first time I subscribed to any youtube channel. You bring much joy, to me and so many others. Thank you, truly, for your videos.

Thanks Shug! Yet another masterpiece, very much appreciated 👍 Your zest for life and all things hanging always brings a smile to my face. Being somewhat older than your good self (😂😂 no really!) I don’t get out as much as I would like so I draw great comfort to be able to “get my fix” by watching a Shug video, I have learnt so much over the years while watching, thank you. Kindest regards to you and yours. Clive from deepest Dorset England 👍
