Not a big fan of that backhand open thumb (running to the side and up the shaft). HK's f.h. stability is thus vastly superior to that of his b.h. The open thumb also means he holds pressure with the rest of his fingers too evenly, and results in less of a whip (not rotating enough around the fulcrum of its base), which greatly reduces his power transfer. On full swings this is a minimal problem as he compensates with a rotating wrist, but if you watch him on his b.h. drops you'll see there's quite a bit of variability between his base and hand delivery which will inherently create control problems in a pinch, and especially later in matches. Cheers.

Nice observation Craig, something quite opposite in the case of the Artist Rammy when he holds the b.h grip he kept the thumb attached to the thicker side of the grip like in badminton especially when he is returning a service return or volley. And no wonder he was a nightmare to play especially towards the b.h side of the court. This was an observation made by Peter Nicol.

What colour dot ball are you using ? Try a single yellow or red dot if necessary, particularly if the air temperature is cool where you are.

@@Dcp0001a Yellow or Red. I have noticed that white balls bounces more, but they didn't have a lot of them in the club. And my own ball is a red.

I do this side to side wall and the last position your raquet is in the follow through should be the first position for the next. Doing this front to back doesnt teach that.
