Hello ! I recently came across your channel when wanting to learn about ceramics with no wheel. I absolutely love how easy you make it look. As I begin my journey with ceramics, I’ve been trying to learn about the best clay to use all around. May I ask you what kind of clay you use ? I’d really appreciate it. Thank you !

Thank you! I use a lot of different clays but mostly stoneware clay. The best place to look for clays is at a local pottery supplier. I live in Singapore so I buy the clay that’s available with my supplier. When looking for a clay similar to what I am using here, you can ask for a smooth white mid-fire stoneware clay. Mix-fire clays are usually easily available and have a lot of commercial glaze options available..

Sweet little dishes! May I ask what glaze you used for the little succulent flower incense holder at the end? It was a mint color.

Lovely. I like your studio as well. I work from my home studio in Japan and I am making some incense stick holders myself for my next show and am happy to see your pieces. So recently I started placing cellophane wrap before pressing my cookie cutters and found it shaved off a lot of my smoothing time. Looking forward to more of your beautiful pieces.

Oh wow! Japan has like the best potters in the world.. I too started with a home studio but then it took over the entire house and I had to move it out. And thanks for the tip. I always forget to add the plastic and also I think I really enjoy the cleaning process. That’s my happy place, especially when I am not rushed 😁🤣

Thank you! It’s actually an mdf board I got from a local art supply. Dont have easy access to thick boards here in Singapore..
