can't believe where we are are in gaming tech. before the steam deck and its competitors came out, i completely forgot about the potential of handheld gaming and only related it to mobile gaming. the upcoming iterations of gaming handhelds as well as egpu's will transform the way we play our games once again

I'm getting a legion go this week and I'm new to handheld. When buying a game from one of the stores, can I download it straight to the legion go and play it? Or do I have to have internet and stream it from the cloud?

40 years, now, on console videogaming, I'm thinking of changing to PC gaming... Which one of those handheld PCs would you suggest me? - It will be (permanently) connected on a 4K TV and power socket - It will replace my laptop - not any heavy or demanding work - I'm not into online/co-op gaming I'd like / I'm interested into: - VR gaming - Touch screen - Windows OS Many thanks in advance!

What I would suggest is the legion Go if you want to use the controllers included while connected to the tv. If you want to get the most out of the device I would recommend an eGPU as well, the onexgpu or onexgpu 2 (coming soon) would be great options. There are some setups needed beforehand but work well. If you’re transitioning from console to pc there is a bit of a learning curve, so just be prepared for that transition and where to find answers and you’ll be good.

@@okestgamer Ah, yeah... "The one with the large screen"! (By the way, my laptop is Lenovo, too...) You know, actually, I tried, once, in the past, to get involved on PC gaming. But I couldn't follow the demands of videogaming - and, mostly, I couldn't afford it: Almost every 6 months, you had to upgrade some part of your tower - if you wanted to run the newest games. CPU, GPU, RAM, HD storage... That's why - and the only reason - I moved to consoles. I (really) hope, today PC systems can last for longer. (Can they?) Thank you very much!!!

@@panosliakos3653 they do upgrade frequently. My best advice would be to device if you want to get one now, or wait a few months. I think the next generation of devices will be coming first half of 2025.

ROG Ally X is the best handheld right now just based on specs alone. Being able to run games from every launcher EASILY, is just the cherry on top. I can run WWE 2K24 in ultra flawlessly. The Steam deck would feel like it was going to melt when I tried that before.

I'm an advocate for self repair and reducing e-waste. Usually the repairs are fairly straightforward if you get used to taking apart electronics. Much like we repair parts on our vehicles when they wear down, we can do the same with electronics.
