Hello everyone In the last video in my workshop called - Restoration of a dead axe into a Small axe Brodaks - with their own hands, restoration - • Реставрация МёртВого Т...
I took up an old and dead rusty axe. This axe for restoration was brought to me from the village, where it lay for many years, like a rusty piece of iron. I cut off a little extra and re-welded it, and now it's a new little hatchet. To restore the old axe, I needed to cut, weld with a welding machine, strengthen the walls of the eyelets, sand, file, remove rust, anneal, harden and release the axe. A lot of work has been done…
In the second part - From the Restored Axe to the Axe of the Scandinavian Viking Leader - • Из Восстановленного То...
I made a decision to make a simple axe with my own hands into an axe for the Viking leader, the king. During the restoration of the axe, I decided to carry an ornament in the style of Scandinavian patterns, consisting in intricate interlacing lines, personally, this style of drawing fascinates me with its beauty, so I did this work with great pleasure. Who wouldn't want to immerse themselves in the times of conquest and travel?
After the king's axe head was ready, it was time to make an axe handle for him. I made the axe handle out of a birch board, I dried the board for several days on my wood-burning stove. When the board dried up, after thinking a little about what kind of handle I want to make, I decided that the ax handle would be short with a comfortable grip for the hand. The board is on the table, the outline of the future new axe handle is drawn with my own hands, I take a jigsaw and give the initial shape to the workpiece. Then it's up to the plane, I remove the excess with it and sandpaper I give the final shape to the product. It's time to put on the head of the axe, for this I mark the place of impaling on the ax handle and attach the necessary dimensions with a file. The axe was successfully planted by me, but for such an axe of the leader, a simple ax handle is so-so, you need to make a pattern. I chose a drawing and transferred it to the handle of the axe with the help of a carbon paper. Then, having cut out a drawing with the help of stationery knives, I sanded it with sandpaper. I decided to paint the handle with a stain in two colors, this is oak and mocha. After painting the ax handle, I planted the axe on the ax handle with three wedges and glue. When the glue dried, I brought the end to the finished result. With the help of acrylic varnish, I applied a protective layer to the ax handle. And so let's sum up the work, the axe itself is not even very bad, the main meaning for it is to chop small firewood and chocks, the very thing. You can also chop, but you will have to make a lot of effort. My verdict is a mini cleaver. ))) I was very pleased with the result of my work, and I hope you also liked my work. Thank you..)))
I used the following tools: Jigsaw, plane, tracing paper, pencil, stationery knives, brushes, protective mask from fine dust, ruler, angle grinder, sandpaper, mallet, hacksaw, files.

Dear friends, if you decide to repeat what you saw. Do Not Forget - observe Safety Precautions. Gloves, mask, glasses, etc. And also what you see is just a flight of creative imagination, not instructions on how to do it. Thank you for understanding!
