I really love you confidence of building such huge construction areas. I’m also kind of always stuck to too small versions of the industries and regrading it afterwards

Is there a signpost that limits road usage to emergency vehicles only? That way a secundary road would insure firetrucks avoid traffic jams.

Maybe...I really have to sit down and test the signs a little...right now I know they are "unreliable", which really just means vehicles from certain buildings, like ts, just completely ignore signs, and no snowplow signs seem to work only in certain situations...but there must be more here, because I need them :)

@@bballjo My impression, without doing actual testing, is that signs will "eventually" work, but my gut feeling is that it takes a while for pathing to be updated. Have you ever ran into a situation where a road or group of roads have "no snow plow" on entry from all ends and "end of restrictions" on exit on all ends, and still get plowed if the signs were in place before winter and no nodes and whatnot within that section was changed during winter?

41:00 I still vaguely remember the restaurant in the previous season causing more issues than it solved... 58:48 I'm a little worried that the 4 gravel processing plants will produce more gravel than being consumed, meaning gravel storages full, meaning the recyclers can't work, meaning you may have construction waste overflow problems at some point. Which is why I eventually ended up exporting gravel from the island, despite not planning on it initally (I thought I wouldn't have issues with construction waste piling up). 1:09:41 Um, that's the iron ore storage, I think you want to export the refined iron, not the raw iron ore :)

Regarding the reconstruction: I would say there are two things that make it harder for the construction offices to keep up with the work when the threshold is set to 30. One would be the frequency in which they need to visit each building (it would be only half if its set to 60, and the reconstruction would not take much longer). Second is that, at least in my experience the buildings percentages will not grow equal for all buildings. Meaning not all buildings will ne reconstruction at the same time. And this would become more relevant when the time between reconstructions is longer. I would be keen to hear your opinion on this :)
@bballjo

@@bumschakalakalaka I've found that for smaller buildings specifically (power and heat) a percentage above 50% increases the wear increase during earthquake and fire to a point where collapse is very likely, near 30% reduces that chance significantly. A viewer has shown me this before, and collapses have been much less frequent since going down in numbers.

@@bballjo Don't forget that when you use the batch assign reconstruction too, you also start reconstruction for all buildings that can be reconstructed at all, i.e. even lower than your set 30%. That in turn makes all the COs in the area see those buildings as reconstruction sites, which further increases traffic (for a while). Agree with your idea to have a few COs at the other end of the "vehicle production worker city".
@bballjo

@@Thesecret101-te1lm I don't think that's true, as the bath tool has 2 different selections, one for construction, and 1 for reconstruction (and I think a 3rd for machine replacement...)

Hi! Regarding feedback, I've done some tests in the engineering city and I've notice whenever the city will be filled up 100% with ppl the forklifts in the shopping centers won't keep up. So I thing changing them to the produced one with higher capacities will be a good move :) Keep going!!! ❤

A work-around would be to have a line with a truck set to wait until unloaded with food directly at the shop. Then most of the time the fork lifts don't have to move food. P.S. surprised by the choice of the touristy restaurant thing rather than a regular shopping center. P.S2. What about the campus area that was supposed to be built next to the uni? :)

Regarding your "busy intersections" and being a former traffic engineer, is there a way of making multi-line roads for very busy sections of high volume traffic areas in workers and resources, and apart from the New Iron & Gravel areas, most of your areas are effectively no exit roads?? Am i right that the vehicle pathing is designed to find the fastest route, even if another route would be less congested but may take longer to get to A - B, the computer would still go clog up the shortest route??
@bballjo
9 күн бұрын
Traffic management is possible, but you pretty much have to do it with single lane roads only. Pathing is closest route, but it will try to drive on roads that are closer to the speed limit of the vehicle (slow vehicles will take dirt roads if they are next to asphalt.
