Traditional deep-fried pastries filled with jam are popular in Germany and have a wide variety of names depending on the region: Pfannekuchen, Krapfen, Kräppel Puffel, or simply "Berliner", to name a few.
Not quite as widespread, but still on the rise, are the Anglo-Saxon doughnuts, which many people will be familiar with from a large fast food chain.
Damien initially brought his Doughnut Time brand to success in Australia before conquering the UK with his deep-fried treats.
And with the first store in Berlin, at the foot of the Funkturm at Alexanderplatz, it is now Germany's turn: time for the super-fresh, creative, sometimes crazy, but always extremely tasty doughnuts from Doughnut Time!
Look over the team's shoulder as they create the freshest doughnuts in town with skill and love.
