This is a stop motion video. CG is not used. This video is made up of 791 undoctored photos stitched together. I spent 22 days making this one minute video. Wood used: Agathis
Of course the quality of the stop motion cannot be denied, but let's also appreciate the fact that he can also create wooden stuff ! It's acompletely different skill yet he excels at that too, this man is full of talents

The stop motion is always lovely and well-done, but I think in the end we often forget to credit the sound design. It’s practically the main factor in believability for stop motion videos (and videos in general), and it’s used to its full potential in every video this person makes!

@sphygo
Жыл бұрын
I wonder if he just does the whole step, when possible at least, and then takes a picture of just his hands moving and then photo shops the progress by blending the pre and post images. That would also be a lot of work though to do that editing on every frame

I genuinely can't image how difficult it would be to do the chamfers on the edges. Like you'd have to round the edge bit by bit returning it back to the set to do another frame, then try and continue that same angle and round of a tiny bit more. I struggle to just maintain a clean chamfer in one continuous motion. Forget having to stop animate the process too.
@EnvyScylla
Жыл бұрын
I'm not a video editor, but I'm pretty sure you could get that chamfer action with just two shots: first, you film the box without the chamfer sitting undisturbed on the table, then you do the whole chamfer at once and put the box back in the same place to film it a second time, this time running your finger along the edge. Then you splice the two shots together, cutting out larger and larger sections from the first video's frames and replacing those areas with corresponding pieces from the second video's frames, following the motion of your hands.
