Hey everyone, my name is Cory and I'm a small town artist working bit by bit on my art portfolio. In this video, I take a break from a portfolio project to work on something I've been slacking on... sketching! To get excited about starting a new sketchbook I decided I'd start by making it myself. Before I start making the sketchbook, I take a look at some pages from my old sketchbooks going back to 2010. It was really interesting to see common inspirations that have lasted practically my whole life, as well as styles I've tried and developed. I think looking back at these past drawings will really help me decided what I want to do in this brand new hand stitched book! I'm hoping to experiment with charcoal, pastels, gouache, watercolor, and collage (given the paper holds up!) as I work in this book in the months to come. I think it would be awesome to make a video update touring this sketchbook, so we'll see what happens. Thanks for checking out the video!
