Yoga has a ton of hand balances - even downward facing dog is a hand balance! So how do we effectively and safely work to use our hands to be weight bearing? In this video, I share two of my favorite active stretching preps for hand balances, as well as one keep strategy I use to help my students create stability from their hand to their shoulder. We alos look at a couple of more passive stretches with which to close class.
Not only are these strategies great for hand balancing, they're also just excellent to give our hands and wrists some love after typing and texting all day!
