They should really put the Apple ID password as the master password. If passcode needs to be changed then appleID password should be entered

I hope they fix the strange KZitem behavior. ( Started by 17.2 ) My air pad air shows the normal small size videos as usual When going to full size pictures it end up silly. The full size videos expands to bigger than actual . The text on the screen tells full size together with a choice to go from small size to full simultaneously 🤔Happens 3 of 4 times. You can’t stop commercials on the extended full size since the field is outside. Any others that experience this messy situation?

They should also provide an option to show a coloured border on the Lock Screen to show a potential thief you have this stolen device protection turned on. A subtle red, yellow, green or blue boarder on a lock or even unlocked wallpaper will be a further deterrent.

Apple should gave a possibility to lock with Face ID any app user wants and a possibility to forbid using a code when Face ID failed in every scenario. And btw - why still iCloud settings are not locked with Face ID?
How about battery life? Better or worse like on 17.2 ? Thanks 😊

Well, so far on my 13 Pro Max, I will say that 17.3 beta one is pretty good. Battery life seems nice. I say that after every single beta update - however, it does seem nice. No complaints. Very polished/very smooth etc. etc.

What if face is not working on a phone due to some issues than what will happen??
@Damariobros
9 ай бұрын
That's an issue I haven't thought of before you brought it up. Perhaps Apple should add some kind of optional override code, that's entirely separate from the device passcode, and is never entered unless you're in a situation where it's not working? Perhaps while the stolen protection is enabled, the override code could only work to add or remove FaceIDs or to disable Stolen Protection, and doing so with the override triggers the hour-long wait. But then after it's disabled, the override would work for all FaceID-only settings?
@imjunaid7

You can tell why this is in beta, it isn't ready for primetime yet. I ended up turning it off since it doesn't save location data so you can locked out of your own device settings for 1 hour. And as a developer that is time wasted. They'll get that fixed in a future update but there's no reason to use it currently.

I feel like in worst-case scenario, if the FaceID or TouchID sensor should stop working, whether because it breaks or because you get your touch screen replaced, or you sustain an injury that unrecognizably alters you, there should be some kind of override code that is entirely separate from the device passcode. This override should never be entered except in worst-case scenario, and would never _need_ to be entered until such a scenario, so it would be exceedingly, exceedingly unlikely that thieves could obtain that code.
@HaleNyt

Other than asking for face ID or touch ID. Why not ask for the Apple ID password? Then add security questions
@Damariobros
9 ай бұрын
@@HaleNyt Security Questions is another idea I've had as a feature Apple should bring back. Not for account recovery, nor for 2fa for signing in, but to be prompted for when you try to do things like use the device passcode to change your Apple ID password specifically from your apple device. In fact, due to some circumstances, I still haven't turned on 2FA on my account, and whenever I attempt to change any of these settings on my iPad, Apple DOES ask for my security questions. They removed this for people with 2fa enabled, only relying on the device passcode. When you turn on 2FA, your security questions are just deleted outright, never to return. As for asking for the current Apple ID password, I can see why it wouldn't be doing that. You need a way to change it from your devices if you forget that password. But there needs to be other provisions in place to prevent thieves from abusing this, hence this whole thing surrounding Stolen Device Protection.
