Snitches get glitches….
The station received here is in fact 94.5 2EC Bega, NSW. Rx location is Braidwood NSW.
This is a rare RDS glitch that requires two stations sharing the same RDS PI Code. Both stations also have to be receivable in the general area.
I think it happened as follows:
* About half an hour before this reception of 2EC, 94.5 FBi Sydney was received with RDS from Mulloon NSW, half way between Braidwood and Bungendore. This location has an excellent takeoff towards Sydney.
* RDS from FBi was decoded with PI Code= 2945 and the car radio stores this information.
* The car radio then receives this RDS level signal from 2EC Bega at Braidwood. 2EC also uses PI Code 2945. However, due to the previously stored RDS data from FBi, it assumes that the 2945 PI code received is from FBi rather than the (yet to be previously decoded) RDS signal from 2EC.
Bega and Sydney are only 326 km apart and there are many areas in between where both signals can be received, so it would be best if one of the stations uses an alternate PI Code.
Негізгі бет Hang on, that’s not FBi! [rare RDS glitch]
