Very inspirational Alex an I'm an old boomer looking to hone his Blender skills (only started a few months back) . Sometimes a thumbnail will grab you with the thought: Did I miss a whole "world" or "movie" thing as you flip though them. This hangar hooked my eye and I watched through to marvel at the technique. Seeing the process form beginning to end is very energizing. If I were hiring someone to handle creating and or designing a sci fi idea I'd be looking at people like you.

LOl well looks like were all here Craig. Im 47 and got into blender around the time of lockdown in my state. Needed something productive to do sitting at home. And I've been at it ever since. My wife wonders why I now spend more time on this LOL newly built machine. I walked into Micro Center one day and blew over 4 grand. And did it like I was shopping for groceries. Funny we were locked down and the only things open were the grocery stores and micro centers. I literally went around in Micro Center with an actual shopping cart. LOL/ BUt I love ir. Building something direct from the imagination is incredible. If you can imagine it, you can create it, now, tell me who doesnt love that?

I love the color and the detail and the style! The thing that jumps out to me is that the scaffolding/walkway is blocking the mechs from getting out. Even if it is able to move, everyone working on it would need to get off beforehand and it isn't practical to work like that. If you made it as modular as the bays (adjustable height), you'd be able to even show some contrast as to which ones were being worked on and which ones were good to go in the story told from the picture.
@AlexPi
2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Jamal! If you look closely, you can see that parts of the bridges near each compartment with the robot can go up, go down and fold, each robot can get out when needed :)

Is it possible to get it perfect using compositing with your render and no photoshop? If the render can't look like this, than shots like this can only be static and can't be used in motion?
@AlexPi
2 жыл бұрын
Of course, it can be used for animation, but in this case, you will have to modify the textures in blender or, for example, Substance Painter, and add atmospheric effects and lens effects during compositing, this is exactly the approach to working with animation, but it takes more time than what I do. so my method is better suited for concept art.

Love it! But may I ask why did you use Zbrush for creating/kitbashing(?) the whole Robot structure? Just really curious as I've never used it like that myself :D
@AlexPi
2 жыл бұрын
Hello Marco! This is a good question. In fact, there are many unique features in zbrush that are very well suited for kitbashing. You can load a huge number of models and make brushes out of them, adding a part of the kitbash with a brush to the right place, you can automatically replace them in the same place by simply selecting others, quickly crop and most importantly, the zbrush can extrude objects using a mask, automatically adding loops, this technique differs from everything that I have seen in other programs and if you look closely, I work with very complex geometry like a plasticine, this can only be done in ZBrush.
