That is Don Helms on steel guitar, who played in Hank Sr’s band.

Don Helms once said everytime Hank Sr. Was going to the Opry or Louisiana Hayride he would call Don to check if he was available before he went. Rightly so that steel guitar is a pillar of country music.

After his father, only Hank Jr. could move people hearts by the way of the singling ….bur sorry …his father was different …That’s why even young people still love Hank’s original songs.

Young people love good stuff and bad stuff. Hank Jr. had some good stuff and he certainly had some bad stuff, in my opinion. His dad had some great stuff and some probably not so good stuff. Again, just opinion. I like his dad's music more, but Jr. has lived a long life and had a long career, therefore more to listen to.

As much as father and son sound alike, it leaves me wondering what Hank Sr. Would have sounded like later in life and would his writing style tastes have changed more to being in line with that of his son Hank Jr. Thanks for share! Great stuff.🎶

Amen brother! i was a drunk and everything else in between! my wife got saved in 1982, she prayed for me for 13 years as i ran around, shacked up, and did her wrong in every way the devil knew how! but she never gave up! i have been saved 27 years. i lead my mom and dad and brother and sister to the load and countless others! before covid i was and am, a jailhouse evangelist. when i was 10 a preacher came to my house and prayed for me, he sicked God Spirit on me! Gods Spirit never left me! he trailed me like a blood hound and never let up! in 1995 i gave up to God! God/Jesus is not just good! he is GREAT! he is everything! if you reading this don't know him but his Spirit is calling, call back! he will save you!

Yeah but he was still just copying his father and nobody ever makes it on their own like that, i honestly believe hank would tell him boy you gotta go out and do your own thing just like any father would tell his son at least a father that really loved his so like i think hank Sr loved hank jr.

@@jimmyjennings8956 There was a little more to this time than just copying his daddy. There was It's All Over But The Crying and Cajun Baby. I'm an odd ball and I know it. I love the voice Hank Jr had here. To me, nobody can sing a love song like Hank Jr, could from 1964 to 1969. In 1970 he got into more country pop. All For The Love Of Sunshine is an excellent example of this.
