One of the most articulate and intelligent comedians I've seen In ages. He finds ways to say all the taboos and is hilarious doing it. We need more and more comedians like this.

@@Opelel88 I don't do any drugs and so find him hilarious. Obviously he's just not your thing. You can't call art awful though. You can just say that you don't like it. I learned a long time ago that art can't be necessarily "bad". It can only be not to my liking. A musician could play a single chord song repeating the same lyrics for 3 minutes but if someone enjoys it then it qualifies, even if it's the artist themselves , but you can't call it bad or awful. You just didn't like it.

Absolutely fantastic performance. Such a refreshing show to watch, I've been in tears here and I'm recovering from a broken rib and in absolute agony but still couldn't turn it off 😂. It's like your favourite right wing online shitposter meets a musical Rick Mayall.

Hans is the closest Dutch thing to George Carlin. And he is/has been a great voice for reason in our country (you wouldn't say from his shows? Take a closer look). He seems to have retired in the Netherlands. And I think it is his contempt/boredom with the Dutch audiences that caused it. He is provactive, and people that just like someone yell "shit" and "cock" come to his shows for it. Meanwhile missing the underlaying, sometimes profound, ideas. And yes he can be raunchy. But that is realy to constantly level the playing field. You can't be a moral arbiter in comedy without constantly pulling the rug from underneath yourself. If you ever needed a reason to learn Dutch. This guy is the reason you would want to. In Dutch he has produced some of the best things I've ever seen a comedian do.

his english bits are mostly picked from his dutch shows. Real rancour has a dutch version as well. It's too bad not all the dutch jokes work in english, so actually, you only get a selection from his material. He doesn't add that much, especially for his English shows. He went to England and performed jazz, because he lost creativity after many successful shows. So he started to adapt them to English (fresh) audiences.

Actually, I was more impressed with the english one. But I saw that a couple times before I saw the dutch one so that helps I guess :) But I would really want to see more of him in english. I hope he gets big in the US somehow. That would be hilarious!

Hans Teeuwen is nothing like Carlin. Carlin was always straight to the point, Teeuwen is more absurdist. I think if you're looking for Carlin-esque dutch comics, you're better off watching Hans Sibbel (Lebbis), Youp van 't Hek or Theo Maassen.

@@damnaion1027 Lebbis, Youp and Theo are nothing like George Carlin. Hans isn't like the dutch version of George as well.... I see him more like a dutch Rik Mayal but more raunchy. His English shows are very tame compared to his early dutch shows.

I mean, there's a big audience for someone who does both but I don't think it would be as big if he wrote crafty jokes rather than performed his ideas in a humorous way. He really couldn't write material for someone else. Don't get me wrong, he's not bad at all. His style is just not for me.

Timmer Ratajczyk Hans Teeuwen, you like him or hate him. He is the king of absurd humour. A lot of times his jokes seems random but then suddenly you see the connection or reason of it. Like in this show how he adresses the Islam with humour by reversing it, how he speaks on such a positive way about it, instead of negative and at the same time jokes about it is pure genius :)

Possibly because he's Dutch. In The Netherlands stand-up comedy and theater often overlap. There's a whole range and every comedian has its own spot somewhere in between. It's called cabaret in Dutch (oddly enough) and the artists are usually called cabaretiers rather than comedians. Hans has a cabaret background albeit a very unique one. Amazing he's found his niche in the UK! Hope he continues for a long time.
@voiceover2191

It's a theater genre pretty exclusive to Holland, called Cabaret, and someone performing it is called a cabaretier. It's basically a mix of stand-up comedy and singing songs. It has a very rich tradition. Some of it is more entertaining, others are more political.
