It’s a weird thing CHF I have it also but lack the swelling. I’m used to seeing the large ankles and swollen limbs from my time in the fire department and the ambulance service. I was very surprised when the heart doctor told me that both sides of my heart failed. I got so bad I couldn’t walk ten feet without stoping. I have recovered some but still have difficulty breathing. The only thing I really could do was watch videos for the first 8 months my ER rate was 10 it’s now about 40 according to the docs. I enjoy watching your videos. The morons seem to do stupid comments on all channels which is sad instead of saying thanks for putting out a video to the creators they would rather insult them. I’m here to say some of us appreciate and understand the commitment to making videos.once again thanks for sharing your knowledge of this subject.

When I started in electronics all I had for equipment was a multimeter. When I got my own scope I knew I was in the big leagues, and I figured out how to use it for everything. But these days I barely use a scope. With all of the $60 sig gens, spectrum analyzers, (TinySA,) and network analyzers, (NanoVNA,) with ever more features that I have now, it seems like my 200 MHz O'scope just gathers dust. I seldom even use the multimeter anymore, either, except for quick continuity tests. We now live in a golden age of sophisticated, tiny, inexpensive, USB or battery-powered, high frequency test and measurement equipment. Life is good.

I was surprised to see that much shielding on a sub $300 scope add in I2c and cann protocol decoding and this scope could scoop up a big chunk of the hobby market. It's often a waste of time offering serious answers to questions about what our knob-forested test gear does (and how many we actually need... all of them, duh) so I sometimes just say the oscilloscope is a twiddly pressy activity centre for nerds. Hantek makes the BEST value scopes hands down. I ordered the 70mhz 4072C but they sent me the 5202 MSO by accident so I got the 200Mhz version which sells for over 400 for about 300. Not only that but in Germany Voltcraft sells that scope for 800+ through Conrad. I used the money I saved to buy the Signal Gen which the 5000 Series is missing compared to the 4000C but I came out way on top because now I have 2+1 channels of 60Mhz instead of 1 20Mhz If I buy another scope any time soon it will be a Hantek 7000 series.

Bought the DSO2D15 model and later I discovered it has Trigger Level problems with signals below 300 mVpp. I did all the firmware updates, still the traces run on the display, no way to stop them. Things get worse if you keep the oscilloscope on for more than ten minutes. Then, if you select a 50 mVpp sine wave with the internal signal generator, the image is strongly distorted. I contacted Hantek several times, they wanted a video of mine showing the issue. Sent the video twice in a month, then Hantek disappeared. I re-sent a final e-mail today, I am waiting for a sign of life from them. At this moment no help at all, their after sale sucks. I did a BIG mistake, I should have bought a Tektronix instead but you only learn these things later...

So my DSO2D10 arrived couple of days ago and spotting how to change the serial trigger data/address value is tricky. But look at page Two of the trigger menu and look at the F4 Data Value. Look really carefully and you will two little Red Dots these indicate which value you are changing high/low digit press and turn V0 to select the digit and same to shift between value and high/low digit. Tricky but easily mastered when you figure it, hope that helps :-)

Awesome entry scope. One thing I see that's particularly nice about this Hantek versus the Rigol DS1000Z series is that the Hantek can turn off the menus and use the full screen for signal display while the Rigol always has menu columns taking up portions of the left and right sides. Plus it's not much more to step up to the Hantek DSO2D10 to get a 5MHz waveform generator. (DSO2D10 $ 280 on Amaz on today). Even if you wound up having to buy a second probe this scope's a real bargain.

@@2pist well guess you are lucky then. Mine froze when changing the time base using full memory depth. At first I thought it might be just a random error. Then the scope froze again and this time it stayed frozen even after rebooting it. It didn't react to any input. Hantek instructed me to reinstall the complete system by setting the scope in maintenance mode. After that it worked again but still froze regularly. I decided to to claim warranty and was forced to send the scope to china what costs me another 45 euro from Germany. I'm now waiting to get back about 250 euro in total for the scope and the shipping cost. The scope is held back by Chinese custom since 2 weeks now and overall I'm wating for my money since two fucking month. I dont even know if they will refund the shipping cost for this price of shit even if they refund my 200euro I played for a defect device I still lost 45 euros for shipping cost. I'm really pissed about how hantek handle this warranty, especially because they have a European hq in Czechs republic where shipping would have been much faster and cheaper. I'm thinking about to take legal actions and sue them for refunding my money. 2 fucking month I'm waiting for about 250 euros. Never again anything from hantek. Meanwhile I got a RIGOL DS1102Z-E 2channel 100mhz scope it doesn't have a function generator but more memory (24M /1Gs @ 1 channel or 12M / 500Ms @ 2 channels) way better measurement and cursor options, way better protocol decoding and math functions and most important, it works and came with 2 quality probes.

It would be interesting to know if that same circuit board is used in their "upgraded" scopes. Is that same board used in the 100MHz, 150MHz & 200MHz scopes. If so, then software determines band width. Probably a flag in the software that limits the 'scope's bandwidth and not the hardware.

I have figured out the 555 on some level and I realize it would take a few more components to do this but I would like a little more info on generating a "random" length, variable pulse. I'm thinking like controlling an LED, MOSFET or BJT making them go on and off at randomly changing intervals and lengths. Another thing I think folks would be interested in would be speakers. Like having speakers be the analog input to control something, and LED, switch, transistor, etc....

I used the calibration function(found in Utility bottom) and it came back with error code : 511d6. I also downloaded the latest software from Hantek. It did not improve and same error code. That USB connector in the back must be a pain in the @$$ if you want to put the scope all the way against the wall.

Hey Paul, nice video. Mine didn't arrive yet but I have a question if you have the time to answer: This model doesn't have the function generator, but the buttons are there... can be "software activated", is just a software issue? Did you notice that the board has written DSO2D15... It seems they all use the same board. Kudos Hugo.

I don't see this on your workbench in later videos, so did you decide to keep it? Could you (easily) remove the red tab and the protective film (it is between the case and the LCD)? If you do decide to do a follow-up video e.g. using the trigger of serial protocols (would be good) then turning off the sound in the utility menu is a good way to go? There is a useful function that remembers all the last settings e.g. V/div, horizontal timebase, etc. if you don't twiddle knobs for about 10 seconds. Later, if (probably when) changing the settings causes the system to hang and you have to power the unit off and on, it will be exactly as you left it. I like that "feature" a lot and it's better than nothing. The print menu can be bypassed by directly using the "Save to USB" button. It is a good idea to copy all existing screen prints to a "Saved" folder before starting to save a bunch of prints because the files are not time/date stamped and it can get confusing if you have new ones mixed in with old ones. Only one probe? To be fair, Amazon's description does say only one probe is provided.

I bought this scope and I am going to use it for working on vintage audio gear. I am new to electronics and I would like to know if I will be able to generate and trace a signal at the same time with this unit?

Thanks for the video. If you were to compare this one against the DSO5102p, which one would you say it is a better oscilloscope? Thanks Pedro

May be worth installing a small computer fan if there is a socket for it. Interesting how the motherboard is black just like Apple products. Have a great weekend. Peace.

I recently bought the DSO2D10, the one with signal generator. After a first excitement I very fast got disappointed. The oscilloscope occasionally frozen during measurements, especially when changing the time base. It doesn't reacted to any input and had to be restarted to work again. At one point the oscilloscope frozen and kept frozen even after restarting it. I had to contact hantek support wich was friendly and helpfull. They send me instructions on how to set the device in maintenance mode and reinstall the software what solved the problem, at least partial. After reinstalling the complete system the oscilloscope worked again but it doesn't fixed the main problem. Unfortunately the oscilloscope still freezes during measurements and have to be rebooted. Will return the device under warranty and claim a refund off my money. I'll guess I will buy a 2 channel 100mhz oscilloscope from rigol. Sadly I'm now without a working oscilloscope until I got my money back Guess I will buy a Rigol DS1102Z-E, 2-Kanal, 100MHz,1 GSa/s, 24 Mpts, Edit: Meanwhile I bought a Rigol DS1102Z-E and I'm very happy with it. Hantek pissing me off. 1. They insisted had to return this piece of scrap to china even they have a hq in Czechs republic. That would have been much faster and cheaper. Shipping costs from Germany to china costs me about 50 euro what I had to pay for. 2. I'm waiting for the refund off 250 euros by now over two fucking month and dont even know if they will refund the shipping costs for this piece of scrap. I'm not even sure they will refund the shipping cost even the promised to do, since they still refusing to refund my money even the scope is sent to china. I'm really patient even 250 euros is a lot of money but how they do everything to not refund my money is close to be fraudulent.

So... my function generator quit after my clips shorted for about 5 seconds. Shouldn't they have a protection Circuit? I sent Hantek an email a week ago and heard nothing..

@@2pist I contacted the hantek support from their website. Meanwhile I'm still waiting for my refund. The returned scope is at the Chinese customs for over a month now but the official hantek store from aliexpress didn't collect it. They told aliexpress they didn't got it and aliexpress froze my refund. I'm now thinking about to file a complaint for commercial fraud against hantek and aliexpress at the public prosecutor. I now waiting for 3 month to get my money back and have neither the scope nor my money back. I'm really pissed.

@@2pist it should have a protection and as far as I know its mentioned in the description. The whole series seems to be buggy. I posted my experience at the eev-blog and another user reported the same problem. His scope also freezes randomly during measurements. Same middle as mine, a dso2d10.

Greetings 🙏 Please recommend which is better for a beginner. Hantek DSO2C10 or DSO2D10 or Fnirsi 1014D. Is Hantek DSO2C10 is better then DSO2D10?

Hello.Does it have the digital filter like RIGOL DS1052E? Repetitive signal 60MHz sine wave was fluctuating and some distortion,a bit shame, but acceptable, because it has the serial bus decoding(address/data trigger etc>Considering the price, very interesting.Thanks.

I want to buy the same oscilloscope but with the signal generator built-in because I don't have that either, would you recommend this scope for me with the signal generator? I'm only doing Arduino, Raspberry Pi & ESP8266 projects and I need a way to measure the resonant frequency of tesla coils that I'm building, is this one up for that task?
