I loved the details about the strategy guide. The ones by GameFan always had amazing official artwork within.

Crazy to think it's been 25 years since this game came out. I had an N64 as a young man back then and freaking loved this game. It was so cool to have a 3D CV game and run around the castle. It's a shame that most modern gamers and creators have such a negative view of this game. Sure, if you compare it to something like God of War 2018 it's not going to be good, but a lot of people forget how much of a challenge the move from 2D to 3D was for game development. On a more positive note, I love all your posters!

There are some really good poster replickas being printed these days. Hard to tell what is authentic or not. Either way that's a sick looking poster congrats!

Very true! I always look to see what the seller's history is like and what they're selling. If they're selling nothing but video game stuff and video game standees/posters, there's a good chance that stuff is knock off. However, this seller was selling a wide assortment of older items that wasn't necessarily all video games which is usually a good sign that it's legit. That, plus the material and natural age of the poster was obvious it was an older poster. That sorta stuff is harder to fake.

I have yet to actually play this game, and can only hope that one day either NSO releases it or Konami gets REAL generous and start doing collections with their 3D games, but either way I think it's cool to see you keep the passion up for the Castlevania series least loved disowned child... like I honestly see more favorable impressions of the Lords of Shadow-timeline than the N64 games.

The thing about it is....the game got good reviews when it came out! Yes there were some camera issues and the controls took a bit of getting used to but the game is a lot of fun! I tend to really like the black sheep's in the series, apparently. All started with my love for my favorite, Simon's Quest.

That’s cool hearing your memories on this game. I love the castlevania series, but never got around playing the N64 ones and with the AVGN bashing those games, made me feel like it was not worth playing them.

Yeah, AVGN has that effect on people sometimes. I'd highly recommend checking it out. It's not perfect, but the atmosphere and vibe really brings it up quite a few notches.

I think playing it before SOTN was the big reason why it grabbed me more. I hadn't played a 'Vania since SCIV at that point.

Still mildly disappointed that Castlevania went in the not quite as good as Metroid direction rather than expanding on the originals like CV64 did. The whole tone and style of the franchise just took a nose dive in the 00s to me, it's like 64/LoD are the last real attempt at making a Castlevania game instead of taking the Castlevania name and slapping it onto a totally different thing. But ah well, that ship sailed long ago I guess... (anyway CV64 is awesome on it's own merits and definitely underrated - love the story and characters in this one)

Agreed. I still really enjoy the games but vastly prefer the pre Lament of Innocence era of Castlevania games.

@Dongled I really enjoy all the later games, I enjoy LoS and the Netflix show as well. It's just a bit of a shame they exist in place of a series I could probably make a decent argument for being dead in all but name. That's a tad dramatic tbf but all the same. If I had to list my personal top 10 favourite bits of media in any medium, the n64 game/s (depending on if you count LoS as differentfrom CV64), Simon's Quest and the original Castlevania would all be on it. It's pretty awesome that the later titles and adaptations bring new fans to the series though so it's hard to feel justified complaining too much.
