Bill Bill was so excited… Reminds me of receiving my thank you from our school district for 10 years of teaching. They printed out a certificate and handed it to me in front of the whole staff. We all had the thats it look. A few days later my husband received his thank you from his job for 10 years of working there. He got to pick a gift out of a catalog, received a substantial bonus, and a small 10 year statue. He felt so bad for me he picked out a coach purse from the gift catalog and gave it to me when it arrived.

They brought an ice cream truck for teacher appreciation week for my teachers. The only thing that the kids ever got was a visit from the Italian ice truck. Yes, I said Italian ice. One of my hometown’s most beloved businesses was an Italian ice shop. We got Italian ice cups about the size of a shot glass full of Italian ice while the teachers got full on gigantic ice cream sundaes. They get the ice cream every year while the students got the Italian ice when they were still nice to kids. That happened over a decade ago.

My mom’s a home health nurse, so on nurse’s day, they always get a bunch of cupcakes and stuff. Issue is, they always leave it in the office, where the nurses rarely, if ever go. The only time they’re even able to make it there is in the evenings after they’ve finished with their patients for the day….which means there’s nothing left, as the office staff always eats it all before they get there. If you know any nurses or doctors, treat them right - their jobs certainly don’t :’)

You just like to watch but you are ABSOLUTELY NO HELP Some people are working their ass off and are treated like a pile of crap at the same time. This moral Is killing me. They canceled surgeries for the non existent Corona patients, They treated them like shit They didn't get paid more Many quit Very much people didn't go along with that. in one hospital they couldn't do ANY surgery anymore because all the anesthesists have all quit. Nah, not everyone. No one even knew Respiratory Therapists existed until the Covid pandemic. They got nothing- maybe a 2% raise every couple of years (after years with pay freezes). Stick around for a while and you no longer get step increases because you are at top of scale. Because of the pandemic and all the travel contracts making employee retention challenging, they were offered a retention bonus of $1,000- but only if they stayed another 7 months. The hospital system, which received millions of dollars in federal pandemic relief funds, also threw them a 2% raise two years in a row. Where did the pandemic relief funds go? To pay travel contracts, executive bonuses, and lawsuit settlements and attendant legal costs.

Happy Doctor's day, today! We need more appreciation and respect for our doctors every day! It shouldn't be so difficult for our doctors to become doctors, and it shouldnt be so hard for doctors to provide the type of care they want to provide to us humans! Appreciate all you good, happy doctors❤❤❤
@Manhandle730

I 100% disagree. It should be very difficult to become a doctor. The only ones that make it should be the very best. Our lives literally depend on it. Having gone to excellent, genius docs and also dealt with lazy, useless lazy bastards I can tell you it definitely makes a difference.

@@Manhandle730 - No, it doesn't particularly since many of the barriers (like having 💰 or the ability to take on insane student debt) have nothing to do with one's ability to be a good doctor.

Hilarious as always. At the opposite end of the spectrum, at the hospital where I was an RD, we would serve a wonderful catered sit-down lunch for the docs. The chef (yes, we had a chef) would go all out: steak medallions in Bernanaise sauce or chicken cordon bleu, etc. Our dept would decorate the large conference room; tables had linen, china and crystal. The docs would receive a nice swag bag from HR. The CEO would give a nice presentation. The docs appreciated the effort and sentiment. Our dept would plan for weeks and we were allowed a large budget. We'd laugh because the docs told us the other hosp in town (the only other acute care hosp) would give them a deli sandwich in a box with a measly swag bag. Wow!

I remember once when I was at 5th grade there was someone putting water bottles in the school toilet and for some reason the director asked me and my friend to find out who it was by the end of the week and he will reward us. So every break time we sat in front of the toilet, going in to check whenever some one who was inside left. As our deadline was approaching we finally found out who it was and we told the director, and when we asked him what our reward was he said he'll give us a 'gosh' which in my language has two different meanings the first being bull and the second being an adverb meaning you did well we naturally thought it was a bull but as you can guess it wasn't. Never felt so betrayed in my life.

That's the appreciation most people in the medical field get. Some are in it for the money, but most of us really got into it because we genuinely love helping people. And unless you are a doctor, your pay is not equivalent to your work. I definitely didn't become a CNA for the pay! It is hard work, both physically and mentally, and I could make more money working at McDonald's or Wal-Mart! But I love what I do, it's incredibly rewarding, and that makes it worth it to me.
