You're wrong. The Gulf of Tonkin incident was fabricated to justify U.S. involvement in the war. The U.S. installed Ngo Dinh Diem as a puppet president in South Vietnam, advocating for the entry of American troops. The media often cites communism as the reason for our involvement, but the real motive was to access oil and exploit Vietnam's resources. Sadly, many soldiers lost their lives for a cause that was unjustified.

what you said about nationalism in the west is very true. all these comments saying "yeah but i see flags ev-" it's not even really about that. even if you do see flags, which _is_ rare now, it's just lost all meaning. people have been trained not to be nationalistic anymore. it's heartbreaking. everyone should be proud of their nation + race.

Yeah. Well many of Vietnam war stories are very tragic and not great memories. VIetnam is a very green lush country but that war was extremely horrific. I served in the military and some of the Vietnam War personnel still active duty told us some horrible stories that you wouldn't want to experience first hand. War is not entertainment.

This video had me in tears. Both my dad and my father-in-law served tours of duty in Vietnam. My dad was drafted, and neither of them wanted to be there. They're both ashamed of the things they were compelled to do. And seeing how kind-hearted and friendly they are to a white man dressed in military garb is mind-blowing to me. They're such warm people. It really is a shame what we did to those people. And for what?
