There’s a difference between “heme” iron and “non-heme” iron. Here’s the simplest distinction between the two:
Heme Iron - Very efficiently absorbed into the body. Can be found in meats like salmon, beef, and turkey.
Non-Heme Iron - Not quite as efficiently absorbed into the body. It can be found in nuts, vegetables, and of course, BEANS.
