I love Harajuku cheese dogs, but when I bought those the other day, they were too stylish and not what I had in mind, so I made my own.
Recipe (for 5 cheese dogs)
: Ingredients:
5 slices cheese
2 eggs
20 g vegetable oil
40 g plain yogurt
Milk as needed (about 30g)
40 g sugar
A few drops of vanilla oil
80 g cake flour
2 g baking powder
How to make
1.Roll up the sliced cheese into sticks. Make 5.
2.Add milk to 2 eggs, 20g vegetable oil, and 40g plain yogurt until you have a total of 190g. Mix.
3.Add 40g sugar and mix. I should have added vanilla oil.
4.Sift in 80 g cake flour and 2 g baking powder. Stir.
5.Heat a frying pan (I use a 26cm Teflon-coated one) over very low heat.Lightly oil the pan, and once it's hot, pour in the batter (4) into a circle. You'll need about 60g of batter for each one.
6.Once the batter is cooked enough to pull away from the pan, place the cheese (1) in front. Fold the front to enclose the cheese, then fold both sides. Roll up around the cheese. Work gloves are useful.
7.Bake for about 5 minutes with the lid on, rolling the batter around.
8.Done.Eat it while it's still warm and the cheese will melt in your mouth. But a cold Harajuku cheese dog is also delicious!
