I picked one up at a garage salw a few years ago. The saw works great, keep the guides aligned to square up the blade and adjust the tension on the balance spring( that thin handle on the side with the spring attached to it) so it puts slight downward weight on the piece being cut and it does the job. Don't allow it to put too much weight on the work piece or you will wear the blade out to fast. The blade that came on it when I bought it is still going strong. AMazing. Cuts slow, but beats doing it with a hacksaw or a grinder.

You get what you pay for, unless you can make it yourself. I bought a Draper bandsaw, made in China obviously, but it hasn't failed me - yet, so I am happy with it. I would love a lathe and milling machine to have a crack at making one using quality components, as I used to work on milling machines, lathes and shapers.

I do not. I would like to think it's shown and listed in the OM. Our HF owner and manager has been very helpful, I would try your manager. Good luck! Thanks for watching!

I've seen on Amazon recently a " 4x6 bandsaw worm gear" also a good source for parts may be Grizzly I hear..as nearly every 4x6 bandsaw is the same model just different colors and seen different hp on other bandsaws..such as 3/4 hp vs the HF 1hp model..Grizzly also has a better manual and exploded diagrams.. probably faster to check Google for 4x6 horizontal bandsaw gears as it would bring up the different places that sell them as HF customer service leaves alot to be desired..this same type of bandsaw has been produced for over 40yrs..so parts will be available for it..

That is a carbon copy of the ENCO model that I bought in 1984 for $75.00 fully assembled. They closed the local show room soon afterward. Mine was still made in America, by the way. Since then, it has only needed blades and one new set of roller bearings for the blade guides. I have never changed the lubricant in the gear box. The original motor is more quiet that yours. No wonder the Chinese copied it.

I just bought one at HF... they have upgraded the Wheels (now rubber with steel rim with roller bearings too).. and they added Rubber feet for opposite the wheel end. The asm directions are still stupid .. much easier and safer to flip unit upside down for attaching the stand.

That sounds pretty good. I've been using mine a bunch this summer. It seems to be hard on blades, I have gone through about 5 this year, some are pure junk though, while some last a good while. Cutting all mild steel. Thanks for watching and the info!
