My brother in law gets 25% coupons and sent me a few. I bought a 73" icon toolbox and ive been eyeing one of these bandsaw's. Im going to build a 3" stainless exhaust and bought the smaller bandsaw but wouod rather attempt the exhaust with one of these instead....

I really want this band saw but as of right now I'm going to attempt to use my current 4x6 practically new bandsaw with the 14t bi-metal blade I just ordered from Amazon. A guy said that blade worked great for his 3.5 ss exhaust. I can continue to upgrade this one I guess and not spend around $1200 after the 25% off. My recent icon toolbox purchase is part of this decision... knowing myself I'll go buy the new bandsaw 😅 The US general toolbox and the icon have a massive quality build difference but to be honest the US general toolbox would work fine for me. I just like the nicer things even though I don't need that level of tool

@@ed_1969 it'll probably work fine. does that one have a hydraulic feed too and just no cooling or it just feeds with weight of the saw? if anything just keep it well lubricated and allow it to cool between cuts. i've had good luck with the imachinist blades off amazon. i have a 8/12 tpi and a 10/14 tpi depending on what I'm cutting. mines almost paid for itself already with some side work. haven't even started using it for my stuff yet. i'll eventually need another box when i move into a bigger place, and i'll probably get an icon then. For now, i think the general will serve me for what i use it for. its definetely an upgrade from my old beater craftsman box lol. i haven't even taken it outa the crate yet though. still waiting to expand my shop so i have room for the other new tools i got.

@callofgeorge the one I have is a basic no cooling and no hydraulic. To be honest, today I have been researching into adding a hydraulic/pneumatic cylinder and also thought of a cooling circulation system. I'm at my job so finding time is slowing down my progress lol I have a 69 mustang I'm building and I just made the cooling lines for the trans and brake lines out of nicopp line. 3/16 and 3/8 and still have tubing left over. If I need a tool for something I'm doing I usually get the best I can afford at the moment. That's also how I got my miller 220ac/dc welder and a bunch of other tools I have along with my 80 gal 5hp air compressor for my 2 car garage 😁. I'm a big believer in buy once cry once! Thanks for the tip on the blade for the bandsaw. I seriously just brought a 14t bi-metal of that brand on Amazon hahaha I was going to install it tomorrow or this weekend

@callofgeorge I really want that bandsaw but there's just some things I have to say no too. Especially when I know I'll hardly use it after the 1 job I bought it for For the toolbox I got the hf card and after my 25% off I'm paying about $68 a month.... pocket change hahaha but I don't mind that since it has no interest and I got what I didn't need but wanted
