Have had 2 of these, one for going on 10 years now and the other about 5 years. Definitely different vendors, I have the same chock on both and another on my motorcycle trailer. I have added tie down loops all along both sides to fit the various bikes I have worked on over the years. I have found they are useful for many things besides motorcycles, have rebuilt a few auto transmissions on them, engines, and the axles for my Jeep. I will say the paint is shit, it will be peeling off in no time, especially after getting shit spilled on it.

I also bought this same lift. I am still using the wheel chock that came with the lift. It works, but could definitely use an upgrade. I like the lift. My first. I don't have another one to compare. The pros: feels solid and do not have any issues with lifting are swaying. My motorcycle weighs 600 lbs. When the bike is not running. I do not have the strength to maneuver it up on to the lift and wheel chock by myself. The jack screws (two on the front) do not have enough contact area to keep the lift from moving which is another issue. The friction tape on the ramp is probably a good idea. So, I did my modification: I bought a Harbor Freight 12vdc, 2500 lb rated winch which uses a wireless hand controller to operate. I built and mounted support mounts on the front of the lift to mount the winch. It works for me. I have a spare motorcycle battery which is enough to operate the winch. Since I am also height challenged, LOL, I need to figure out an easier way to demount the bike from the wheel chock. Is the wheel chock you have easy to demount?
@MichiganMoto810
4 жыл бұрын
Yes. The upgraded wheel chock I use now will hold the bike perfect and allows myself or anyone else to dismount with ease. The bike is secure and steady inside the upgraded wheel chock.

Yes, must have if you wrench. Good for the $. I upgraded to the same wheel chock. I added 2 front and 2 rear u-bolts for tie down. I bought the HF gold colored hand crank boat winch. I mounted it just to left and forward of wheel chalk..My bike wasn't drivable so my wife winched up and on ad I walked and steered into wheel chock. (I'm old and weak!) Like your idea of skateboard tape, gonna do that soon...

I have the same lift and wheel chock and still use tie downs. Move the eyelets forward to be inline with wheel. Tie downs are cheaper than a new bike

Have the same table but had to make an extended wheel stop up front. Work on nothing but big tour bikes, and the standard stop puts the center stand on the drop-out panel. That wheel chock would never work for me either. Have one on my trailer & it IS easy but takes too much space. Table itself is awesome & has taken a beating w/o a problem. One fallacy is the stop bar for locking it. Comes with a cheap tubing rod, I replaced that with solid steel. Recommend you do the same because when the cheap one bends you'll probably have to cut it to get it out

I added extenders on the sides of mine to make it wider. I don't want to try and hold up a 900lb motorcycle when it tips pushing it up on the table and I didn't feel comfortable with how narrow it is riding it up either, one bobble riding it up and no room to put your feet down for real balance, and over you go.

Good video , thanks. I did notice your feet were pretty much planted on the garage floor right up till the end when you put the front wheel in the chock. Ya mind if I ask how tall you are? I know a lot of complaint is that this lift is too narrow.

I have the Central Pneumatics motorcycle lift table from Harbor Freight, (the predecessor to the Pittsburgh) that came with the air/ hydraulic jack. After about 12 years of frequent use, the pneumatic pump gave out and I manually pumped it up for about a year. I eventually converted it to a hydraulic cylinder powered by an electric pump. It was a good lift. Now it's a great lift. Here's the link to the video on the mods I did. kzitem.info/news/bejne/tWybrp6ek4Cci6w Here's the video on the conversion I did on my second lift. kzitem.info/news/bejne/unqc0KiQh2dyfaw
