ima retired ProfessionalWoodworker that spent over 30 years in Commercial ArchitectualWoodworking and more than 35 years doing Woodworking as one of my MainHobbies i like these kits fromHarbor Freight mainly because of the Price Value i do however have Router Bits i’ve paid in excess of $50.00 for one bit and ironically the very same price for some Specialty DrillBits when i was young and starting my family money was tight and one day in my localSears store they had a 12 or 14 peice Router set i purchased they are HSS and instead of ball bearing bearings those actually only had a Steel guide that bolts onto the top of the Cutter it’s not a great set up but the entire Kit was like $14.00 and i still have all of the peices in my Router Storage box with my other bits ! the point is it was a affordable set that has gotten me out of binds and came in handy many times over the years i’ve had to sharpen and resharpen them many times often using a small Jewlers File set i keep in my main tool box or even at times with a belt Sander Sure Carbide tipped are way better and with quality Bearings you do get more Professional results but sometimes as a Woodworker you don’t always have to have the most expensive tools available and a good Craftsman can dress things up in a manner to get ProfessionalResults that includes expanding your Profiles and Styles will allow a Craftsman to improve his or Her skills and Artistry to find what works best for them i guess sort of “Experimenting” so to speak running Routers on different Species and even sometimes just different heights or spaced with bRoller Bearings can make a World of difference on a CustomPart and many of us don’t have the FinancialResources to spend on every Profile Router Bit out there as you probably know and I’ve previously stated they can get fairly Expensive my little Starter Set from Sears did allo me to Experiment and discover which ones i used a lot and those i did Purchase a Specific Quality Cutter to perform that Task a little faster,Cleaner, and more Professionally so for that i could Rationalize spending the extra money on just that Bit plus as my Business grew and Profits got better i could then have my CustomProjects purchasing upgraded Tools a i felt the need to As i stated i did keep that old set of Sears Bits as a Reminder to how I started i also keep a Old Craftsman 1” Chisel that came in a set but i do prefer using my Marples

I'm new at this and I understand that you have to do multiple passes with the router so then you have a really good and smooth edge saving the sanding part and don't go that deep at the first pass and is not that a compact router can't handle it is just to have the best finish specially when you do it across the grain so it would looks horrible like if a dow was chewing it.

The rule of thump, the larger bit (cutting surface) - the lower RPMs to use. Those bits are new, so while they look like able to cope, they will loose their sharpness and start burnouts quickly with aggressive cuts.

Cool video showing it on that young common stock. Now, try it on old growth or hardwood. Would love to see the burns.

LMAO at the "nice and clean cut" at 3:20 with tearout all over the corner. Slow down your routing, even cheap bits like these should be fine in soft wood.

If you only use a router 10 times a year they are great....Otherwise save your money and buy Infinity....
