And danger line. And how is critical acclaim about soldiers?
@ajaynorris3526
3 жыл бұрын
@@tt2k00 it's one of those songs where everyone has a different meaning for it. Some people say they're talking about people that judge soldiers for doing their jobs and others say something else. And M Shadows literally says "So how does it feel to know that someone's kid In the heart of America has blood on their hands Fighting to defend your rights So you can maintain a lifestyle That insults his family's existence"
@themacca277
3 жыл бұрын
@@ajaynorris3526 the song is more about the disconnect between the class systems of america. when it mentions the military part of the song its moreso about how these people are out putting their lives on the line meanwhile the rich "elites" of the world continue to live a carefree life allowing others to suffer. Its not about military it simply cites military as an example of the differences between social classes.

Instead of abandoning or ignoring the song due to simply heavier vocals or even lyrics you don't agree with, you understand good music is good music in one way or the other. Hey Alex. When you talked about the soldiers feelings when they come home… That hit really close to home. When my dad served in the army in Desert Storm. He came home not himself. From what my grandmother told me. She would wake up to hear screaming coming from his room, only to find him huddled in a corner crying. The horrors he had to endure and orders he had to follow. Scarred him for life. People tend to forget soldiers are human just like you and me. They aren’t invincible. So when we send our men and women to war expecting them to come back safe and sound. It doesn’t always turn out that way. My father is a prime example of that. Even if they show no signs of distress. Shake their hand, give them a hug. Tell them how thankful we are for their sacrifice. Not everyone that comes home, actually come home…

I served two tours in Afghanistan and had one extremely close call with one of the pilots in my unit. He was shot in the head and his copilot shot in the leg, but somehow he managed to fly the helicopter back and get his copilot to safety. It took him 3 long years, but he mostly recovered from that. My second tour we had a team of pathfinders all die due to some bad intel/ambitious officer decisions. Thankfully I did not know them as well or I would be haunted every night, but I think about them all often. And to top it off, my unit didn’t have any casualties other than the pathfinder team, but one of our guys died to a drunk driving accident. Young dad of two boys and a wife. I still cry about him whenever I remember the good times. I miss his smile and his laugh. They were infectious. And to think he survived war only to die at home with nobody even trying to kill him. Thank you Amy and all of you for your service. Thank you to the family members of military personnel who have deployed. Your sacrifice is unknown to the vast majority of the civilian population. And thank you Alex for paying homage and tribute to a beautiful song.

"we've proven our LOOOOOOVVVE over time's so strong" shit it gives me goosebumps every time... M.Shadows has such a powerful voice! War is not about fighting for what's good nor is it about fighting against evil because, in the end, good and evil is just a matter of point of view...what is certain is that everyone loses something or someone. Plus, having a sibling in the military feels like he/she is part of another family, don't know how to explain it, but besides the pride and honor, there's this subtle feeling of detachment that is kinda hard to bear for relatives. I guess those in that situation can relate.

My brother did multiple tour in the 2001 war 2001-2005, 2005-2008, and he was active in the army until 5 years ago. A total of 16 total years in the military. He was promoted to the rank of lieutenant and I'm just happy he can now be safe home with our family. He was sent home during his first tour for several months from left side shrapnel injuries, "minor luckily" but several of his good buddies did not survive the blast. A roadside bomb blew up on the other side of a tarp convoy my brother was the driver of and if he hadn't been on the drivers side about to walk around the other side to where his buddies were who unfortunately parished, he would not be with us today. This song also hits home for me and I'm lucky and thankful my brother survived and yes GunsLinger. My grandfathers on both sides of my family are survivors of ww2, my uncle a dessert storm survivor, and one cousin currently in the military. Nothing but love and respect for the military and their sacrifice, avenged sevenfold for this amazing song, and to you Alex for the continuous amazing content inspiring me and making my days so much better with all the love and amazing words you share. So thank you! :)
