His song "the mockingbird and THE CROW" pretty much sums up where he is headed with his music. I really like how it fused the 2 sides of country and rock together. I am actually liking his rock side.

Hardy kicks ass. He's in a genre all his own. Country / rock / alternative and even some metal. Have to do "the mockingbird and the crow" thats the middle song of his album. 1st half is country, 2nd half is rock. Mockingbird bird and crow is a cross over, half song country other half is rock. Also need to do "Radio Song" "Jack" "truckbed", and "kill shit til i die" for rock and " red" " a rock" for country.

Love the half country half rock concept of his new album. I’m still surprised anything from the rock half showed up here. Lol. Y’all should react to the song that gave the album its name “The Mockingbird and the Crow”. The song flips from country to rock mid track. The songs before that one are Country. The ones after it are Rock/Metal.

When you were talking about Lacuna Coil it made me think of Evanescence. I don't really know either band. I'd never heard of Lacuna Coil but your description made me think of the 1 song I've heard from Evanescence (Bring me to Life). I have no idea if the two bands are anything alike or if I just made fans of both artist choke and want to put a hit out on me, but thats what speaking from ignorance does sometimes!

@@BourbonCountryReacts I'll have to check them out. I've listened to Evanescence only a handful of times and only really know that one song. When it comes to female vocals, I went through a phase where I listened to a ton of Lzzy Hale from Halestorm. I heard her on a video with country star Eric Church. The song was "That's Damn Rock and Roll." (CMA 2014) I was completely blown away with her vocals. It's not a country song so you can listen off channel if you're interested! I became an immediate fan. 😂

So it’s being called Country-Core. Hardy was raised on grunge, 70’s rock, and rock/metal. Yet he grew up in Mississippi with country music. So he decided to mix them 🤷🏼♀️. His song Mocking Bird & The Crow explains it. His cover of Puddle of Mud’s Blurry is AWESOME!

I really think y’all should react to more Eric Church. I really think y’all’d get a kick out of several of his songs…like Jack Daniels, Cold One, Bunch of Nothing…he is heavily influenced by rock, but it’s done better, IMO. Also try “That’s Damn Rock and Roll” live with Lzzy Hale. Lzzy definitely upstages Church, but it’s great.

I interpret this as that he has fans 'wall to wall' & he still hasn't sold out & joined the other carbon copy artists right now. He describes his change from writing radio ready music for other artists, and then changing to do his own music saying what he wants to say in his song 'The Mockingbird & the Crow'. First half of the song is typical radio fare, as he plays the Mockingbird. Then the music changes & he becomes the Crow. It's like 2 songs in one & describes his own evolution..

I think I've commented on Hardy before, he's really a mixed bag for me. I like his story if I understand it correctly. A fairly prolific songwriter with quite a few successful songs, but he wanted to take the next step as an artist so he cut a few songs and took off. His voice is not my favorite. But I'm kinda picky about voices I really like. I enjoy and even listen to some of his stuff, but it will never be his voice that sells me on his songs. Another thing I'm not a huge fan of is artists trying to live in two genres of music. Very few people can really do that well. Just my thoughts and opinions.
